Virginia & Northern MMR Gail Komar’s magnificent HO scale Virginia & Northern
is set in the 1950s and is a freelanced version of a portion of the C&O between Hinton and Clifton Forge, West
Virginia. Since this is coal country, the layout featured lots of scratchbuilt mining operations, plus beautiful Appalachian
mountain scenery.

L&N and Southern Railway MMR John Wilkes models the L&N and
Southern Railway in Southwestern Virginia, circa 1975-1978 in HO. Like Gail Komar’s
Virginia & Northern, this layout is also all about coal hauling. In fact John has scratchbuilt or kitbashed 13 coal mining operations on this
layout!

Sundance Central The Fn3 Sundance Central layout is located
inside the Suncoast Center For Finescale Modeling in Odessa, Florida. As the photos
show, the craftsmanship and attention to detail seen on this layout are beyond exceptional. The fact that this is a modular layout that has been
displayed in venues far and wide makes it all the more amazing.

Dolly Varden Mine The On30 Dolly Varden Mine Railroad is another amazingly
detailed layout. It depicts 1920s silver mining in British Columbia, Canada. Built by
John Hunter and Dan Pickard in Australia, it now resides
at the Sundcoast Center For Finescale Model Building.

Muskrat Ramble Like the previous two layouts, the On30 Muskrat Ramble is also of modular design. And like the Dolly Varden, it too
was built in Australia, but now calls the Suncoast Center For Finescale Modeling in Florida
its home. It’s set in the bayous of Louisiana, as the photos
clearly show.
