Chapter 2. Features and Functions of Packet Radio NML-200
2.1 NML-200 Packet Radio Service Type
The NML-200 is pure packet radio, all the service is transmitted by packet frame. To
transmit TDM business, external devices should be used to encapsulate TDM traffic to the IP
packet data frame (Packet). NML-200 provide the flow control, TDM services can be set the

2.2 IP Function of NML-200
The IP performance of NML-200is shown in table 2-X.

2.3 Modulation Mode of NML-200
The NML-200 supports adaptive modulation functions. Adaptive modulation (AM) is a
technology that automatically adjusts the modulation mode according to the channel quality.
The user can decide to enable or disable the adaptive modulation function (AM).
In the case of adaptive modulation function is enabled, the different modulation modes,
the traffic capacity of the microwave is also different, the higher the modulation mode, the
higher the capacity of transmission service. For example, in a good channel quality (such as
Clear), the device uses a high modulation mode, more business can be transmitted, in order to
improve throughput and spectrum utilization efficiency of the spectrum resources. In a bad
channel quality (rain, snow, etc.), the device uses a low modulation mode, then the
transmission quality and reliability is improved, but services throughput dropped, the
transport business choice according to the traffic management mechanisms (QoS), high
priority traffic transmission priority, low-priority traffic is discarded.
The features of the AM function of NML-200 is listed below:
 Support QPSK/16QAM/32QAM/64QAM/128QAM/256QAM/512QAM/1024QAM
modulation mode, user license also decided the highest available modulation mode.
Hardware Description of Full-outdoor Packet Radio NML-200
2.4 Traffic capacity of NML-200
The traffic capacity of NML-200 support to 450Mbps, the actual traffic capacity is
determined by channel bandwidth, modulation and the user license.
2.5 ATPC function of NML-200
The NML-200equipment provide automatic transmitter power control function (ATPC). The
output power of the transmitter can automatically adjust by tracking the receiving signal
This function can reduce the interference of the adjacent communication system. ATPC
performance of NML-200 is shown in Table 2-X.

2.6 Network Management Function of NML-200
NML-200 equipment provides two ways to manage the radio network and the device.
 WMT mode: configure the equipment and manage the network with Web application
over HTTP network protocol;
 SNMP mode: configure the equipment and manage the network by external Network
Management System (NMS) over SNMP protocol;
2.7Installation and Maintenance requirements of NML-200
