President MessageDear Foundation Supporters,

2014 is off to a great start!

Thank you to all the NJPGA Professionals for stepping up their efforts to help the NJGF Capi-tal Campaign reach its goal of $2.5 million. A special thanks goes out to the golf staff andmembers at Upper Montclair Country Club. Through their golf marathon this summer, theyraised $40,000 for the NJGF. Many other clubs are running similar golf marathons, and welook forward to hearing their success stories.

I'd like to thank all the board members and committee members for their time and focus. Ourmission has not changed and we strongly believe we will have a significant impact on livesand communities through the game of golf. NJGF programing will continue to expand this fall.We have at least two teacher trainings scheduled, which will add nine more schools, bringingour total to approximately 210 schools.

The NJ Golf Foundation Golf Classic was held on August 4 at Baltusrol Golf Club. Thanks toall the participants and sponsors, we raised over $200,000 to continue growing the game ofgolf. Baltusrol Golf Club was a wonderful host for this great event once again.

I would like to mention Norm Lewis as the 2014 recipient of the Chairmans Award, presentedat the Golf Classic last week.Norm has been a personal friend of mine for many years and supporter of the NJGF. He grewup playing Springdale GC and now is president of Morris County GC. He displays a undyinglove for the game and we are honored to have him as our 2014 Chairmans Award winner.

The Famiano Scholarships were awarded at the July outing at Crestmont. I’d like to congratu-late our recipients for 2014, Jessica Wild from Hunterdon Central & Nicholas Cappetti of Burl-ington Township. Jessica will be playing golf at the University of Tampa and Nicholas hasentered the PGM program at Campbell University.

We have launched PGA H.O.P.E. at the VA Hospital in Lyons, NJ. We had over 13 NJPGAProfessionals instruct 15 veterans at the training in April. Due to the success of the first ses-sion, we will add a second session beginning September 10.

Keep the NJGF Holiday Party on Friday, December 12 at Plainfield Country Club in your cal-endar. Its always at nice way to celebrate the successes from the year.

As we enter the second half of the golf season, I wish everyone the best.

Sincerely,Gregg Angelillo
