Message from Swami Shivatmananda.... Do you know that tomorrow is Moola Nakshatra
(constellation), the Nakshatra of Goddess Sarasvatiji!. There cannot be greater auspicious omen than Wednesday arrival : Moola nakshatra, Saptami tithi, And above all Navaratri! You all in Ottawa are truly blessed! Each one of the things I indicated has
deep deep significance! All stars aligned up only out of blessings of Gurudev, who has tirelessly only served
Goddess Sarasvati His entire life!

Invocation Prayers were offered to Sri Maha Ganapathi, Sri Guru, and Sri Sarasvati, and Bhagyasuktam to Ma Kamadhenu. Bhumi puja was offered to invoke the Grace of Mother Earth for Sarasvati Peetha Sthapana.
As Sarasvati Gayatri was vibrantly chanted by all devotees, the Pedestal base hole was filled with sacred items such as soil, likhita japa offered by children and adults, Yantras, sand, precious items such as saffron, raw camphor, nine stones, grains, metals, and a small piece of gold, and sand.
Om sarasvatyai ca vidmahe vidhī vallabhāyai ca dhīmahi tanno vāṇī pracodayāt ǀ

Chanting of mantras and slokas sanctified and energized the entire atmosphere. Melodious Bhajans followed.
The Puja was concluded with Aarati to Ma Sarasvati.
This was followed by delicious Prasad.
With great joy, all CMO families eagerly await the Darshan of Sarasvati Ma on the Murti Stapana Day! Mātā Sarasvatī ki Jai!

Here is a message from a Chinmaya Volunteer...
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the ladies and
volunteers for the grand success of running the summer camp at
Chinmaya Bharati this year. I decided to come and see the kids
performance this afternoon, and I must say that I was completely
bedazzled when they chanted Shlokhas for a good 15 minutes or
so. Since the halls of Chinmaya Bharati started resounding so divinely
with the beautiful enunciation of Shlokhas, I decided to get up from my
seat to see if this was a recorded version that was being played. To my
utter surprise I noticed that this was a live rendition of Shlokhas, and
most of the kids were indeed singing so beautifully, and the sounds were
reverberating from all the corners of the hall. I could not help asking
myself as to how this was possible to achieve in such a short time. To
bring kids to this level bears testimony to all your efforts. It was indeed
worthy of a resounding, standing ovation. Thank you all.

Weekly Activities at Chinmaya Bharati * Sundays 10:15 a.m. – Sunday Program is a comprehensive, family-oriented program of classes that teaches the ‘art of living’ concepts of Vedanta to students ages 3 and up.
* Tuesdays 7:30 PM - Devi Group class for ladies. Please contact Bina Sutarwala at 613-591-5961 for more information (satellite class).
* Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. These classes feature a comprehensive study of the Bhagavad Gita, synthesizing teachings of Swami Chinmayananda through videos, reading and discussions.
* Thursdays at 6:00 PM. Yoga exercises and introductory pranayama class. Please bring a yoga mat / towel.

How to get involved in the Saravati Murti Sthapana?
Devotees are requested to sponsor and participate as Yajamans for the Sarasvati Murti Installation. There are some sanctifying ceremonial activities for Murti Sthapana that devotees could take active part in. Abhishek is one such ritual. Abhishek is a Sanskrit term denoting a devotional activity of giving a Holy bath to a deity. It literally means “to cleanse.” Since Ma Sarasvati is the purest, this act is not to cleanse the deity but it rather signifies the cleansing of our inner self. We clean out limitations, negativities, and illusions that are within ourselves. Every Abhishek takes the worshipper closer to the Self and realize union with God.
108 Abhisheks will be performed for Ma Sarasvati on the Sthapana Day. If you have not already sponsored the event, please take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sponsor and offer Abhishek to Ma Sarasvati idol.
