Topic: Getting to grips with Plain Language Date: Saturday 2 August 2014 Time: 9.00 to 13.00 (Please register by 8.45) Venue: EES-Siyakha Conference Centre (see next page for details) This intensive workshop was developed in response to the results of a survey undertaken some months ago to ascertain Gauteng members’ training needs. The workshop will benefit all editors wishing to learn about and practise Plain Language skills or to refresh their knowledge and boost their proficiency in this area. It will be facilitated by Liz Haines and Isabelle Delvare. Liz is an expert writer and editor in the field of Plain Language, and has been a member of and volunteer for PEG over many years. Isabelle is a lecturer in editing and proofreading technique at Wits University, where she introduced the topic of Plain Language in the Honours in Publishing Studies programme. workshop of 2014.
