Built in 1909 at the request of Kaiser Wilhelm II
as a convalescent home for high-ranking
officers, the listed villa complex with its private

Professor Ghofrani is a professor of internal medicine at the Justus-
Liebig University in Gießen, medical director of the Kerckhoff Clinic
in Bad Nauheim and head of the special facility for “pulmonary
hypertension and right ventricular heart failure” at the University
Hospital of Gießen and Marburg (UKGM), at the Gießen site. He has
acquired an excellent reputation for probing new treatment approaches
for heart and lung diseases and has published his research in leading
international scientific journals. He is a consultant for new therapeutic
procedures to both the European (EMA) and American (FDA)
regulatory authorities.

2” is based at the hospital. 351 beds are available in the hospital for patient care. In addition to medical care,

Professor Sauerbier is chair of the Department of Plastic, Hand and
Reconstructive Surgery at the BG Trauma Center Frankfurt am Main. He is also
a professor of the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and belongs to the
Medical Faculty of the University. He also works in cooperation with the Uni-
versity Center for Tumour Diseases (UCT). Prof. Sauerbier specializes in the
reconstruction of the extremities following trauma and tumour diseases (soft
