Unit #2 Boiler 2 – 1958 Kewanee steam boiler, model HM-891, fired with natural gas and distillate oil with a maxi-mum heat input capacity of 21.9 MMBtus per hour.
Unit #3 Boiler 3 – 1992 steam boiler, model 83446-H35-300, fired with natural gas and distillate oil with a maximum heat input capacity of 10.04 MMBtus per hour.
Unit #4 Generator #1 – 2008 Cat-erpillar C27 ACERT compression engine fueled with distillate oil with a maximum capacity of 905 horsepower.
Unit #5 Generator #2 – 1993 Cat-erpillar 3508 compression engine fueled with distillate oil with a maximum capacity of 1199 horsepower.
A review of this application indicates Avera St. Luke’s can operate the general medical and surgical hospital in compli-ance with South Dakota’s Air Pollution Control rules and the federal Clean Air Act. DENR, therefore, recommends that the Board of Minerals and Environment is-sue a Title V air quality operating permit to Avera St. Luke’s with conditions to ensure compliance with South Dakota Codified Laws (SDCL) 34A 1 and the federal Clean Air Act.
In accordance with the Administra-tive Rules of South Dakota (ARSD) 74:36:05:17, any person desiring to com-ment on DENR’s draft permit conditions must submit written comments to the ad-dress below by close of business on the thirtieth day of this public notice. Com-ments may be directed to the following mailing address: Teresa Williams; PMB 2020; Department of Environment and Natural Resources; Division of Environ-mental Services; 523 East Capitol, Pierre, South Dakota 57501. DENR will consider and address all comments submitted and issue a final permit decision pursuant to ARSD 74:36:05:18. DENR will notify the applicant and each person that request-ed notice or submitted written comments of DENR’s final permit decision, including notification of any changes to the permit based on the comments.
