The Beginning of Years & Days

1. GOD’S HOLY DAYS ARE GIVEN FOR A SIGN

Exodus 12:1-2 “The LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land

of Egypt, saying, 2This month shall be unto you the beginning of

months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.”

JESUS IS COMING LIKE IN THE DAYS OF NOAH,

WHEN ONLY A FEW CAME IN THE ARK TO BE SAVED.

JESUS CALLS US to COME IN TO THE ARK OF HEAVEN.

SO COME, BE SAVED, AND LIVE FOREVER WITH HIM!

INTRODUCTION: God established His appointed times called

Holy Days, from the beginning of Creation when He set the sun,

moon and the stars in the sky to mark days, nights, weeks, and years,

to be signs between Himself and His people. It is important to know

the times that God calls Holy Days in His Calendar, because He has

fulfilled every prophesy exactly on time! Jesus said He will be

looking for those whom He finds patiently keeping the sign of His

weekly Sabbath and His Commandments, because that is how He

knows His own at His coming! Most people are not aware that God

says our years are to begin in Spring, on the 1st day of Nissan, nor

of all the amazing things that God did on this day.

2. GOD ESTABLISHED HIS CALENDAR AT CREATION

LONG BEFORE FORMING THE JEWISH NATION.

Genesis 1:14 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament

of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for

signs and for seasons and for days and years.”

Every civilization of every nation has had its

own calendar: Islamic, Japanese, Grecian,

Indian, Chinese, including the ancient Mayan

calendar that predicted the end of the world in

2012. In America today, we use the Roman

(Gregorian) calendar, originally patterned after

the calendar of ancient Egypt. The Roman

calendars we use today, change the times of God

by replacing God’s numbered days of the week with the names of

pagan idols, and replace God’s Holy Days with days honoring the

gods of Babylon’s fertility festivals. By cruel punishments, Julius

Caesar simply wore out the faith of the saints, who gave up and

followed the accepted practice to fit in, just as most Christians

continue to do today. The Roman calendar in block form, is used by

virtually everyone in the civilized world.

Daniel 7:25 “And he shall speak great words against the most

High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to

change times and laws….”

God tells His people, including

everyone who is ‘grafted into Israel’

and therefore also called His people,

Israel, to follow the months & dates

of God’s sacred calendar, keeping

His Holy Days that He outlined for

us in Leviticus 23 as the sign that we

are His. The only change is the

blood: the new covenant is sealed in

the blood of Jesus Christ who shed

His own blood once for all.

3. GOD SET A SPECIFIC DATE FOR HIS CALENDAR

YEAR TO BEGIN, MARKED BY SIGNIFICANT EVENTS.

Exodus 12:1 “And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the

land of Egypt, saying, 2This month shall be unto you the beginning

of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.”

1st Day of the 1st Month (Nissan):

The waters of the flood were dried up,

Noah removed the covering of the ark,

and Noah’s family, and the animals came

out from the safety of the Ark, to a new

life on the earth that was made new.

1st Day of the 1st Month (Nissan):

God instructed Moses to set up the

Tabernacle as a picture of God’s plan of

redemption, and as a place where He

might come to dwell with His people.

1st Day of 1000 Year Millennium (Fall):

The righteous dead shall be raised up,

followed by living believers, to meet the

Lord in the air, to keep them safe in the

Ark of heaven in the clouds, while “just

as in the days of Noah,” the earth will be

cleansed of all wickedness.

1st Day of the 1st Month of Eternity:

Just as in the days of Noah, the

resurrected wicked shall suffer 2nd death

in the lake of fire, while God’s people are

safe in the Ark of heaven, then “after the

1000 years are finished, Jesus will

descend with His people in the Heavenly

City, to live forever in righteousness on

the earth that has been made new.

4. GOD SAID THE REAL NEW YEAR BEGINS ON THE

FIRST DAY OF THE FIRST MONTH OF HIS CALENDAR,

According to the Scriptures, God established the 1st day of Nissan

to begin the counting of months and years. The first time we see

this date is when the earth is dried and made new after the flood.

Genesis 8:13 “… in the six hundredth and first year, in the first

month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from

off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked,

and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.”

1ST DAY OF THE 1ST MONTH (Nissan):

The waters were dried up and Noah

removed the covering of the ark to see

that the earth had been made new. God

saved Noah and his family in the Ark

while the wicked were destroyed by the

waters of the flood: The earth shall be

made new, just as in the days of Noah!

A January New Year was determined by Babylon and Caesar.

"Mesopotamia is the very ancient Mother of Civilization. Christmas

began there, over four thousand years ago, as the festival which

renewed the world for another year… the bright fires and the Yule

log; the giving of presents…merrymakings and clowning, the

mummers who sing and play from house to house; the feastings; the

church processions with their lights and song -- all these and more

began there centuries before Christ was born. And they celebrated

“In 46 B.C. the Roman emperor Julius Caesar first established

January 1st as New Year’s day. Janus was the Roman god of doors

and gates, and had two faces, one looking forward and one back.

Caesar felt that the month named after this god (“January”) would

be the appropriate “door” to the year. Caesar celebrated the first

January 1 New Year by ordering the violent routing of revolutionary

Jewish forces in the Galilee. Eyewitnesses say blood flowed in the

streets.” U.S. News and World Report December 23, 1996

5. GOD ESTABLISHED HIS HOLY DAYS AS SHADOWS OF

EVENTS IN HIS FUTURE PLAN OF SALVATION.

When God spoke to Moses before leading His people Israel out of

Egypt, He confirmed the beginning day of His calendar, Nisan 1, to

be the 1st day of the 1st month of the year:

1ST DAY OF THE 1ST MONTH (Nissan):

Exodus 12:1 “And the LORD spake unto

Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt,

saying, 2 This month shall be unto you the

beginning of months: it shall be the first

month of the year to you. 13 And the blood

shall be to you for a token upon the houses

where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and

the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the

land of Egypt. 14 And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and

ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye

shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.”

1ST DAY OF THE 1ST MONTH (Nissan):

God told Moses to set up the tabernacle so

that He might come to dwell with His

people, showing God’s plan of redemption

so that we might dwell with Him forever:

Exodus 40:2 “On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up

the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.”

1ST DAY OF THE 1000 YEAR MILLENNIUM:

“As in the days of Noah,” Jesus shall call His people up to clouds of

Heaven, to keep them safe while the earth is cleansed by fire.

Luke 17:26-27 “And as it was in the days of

Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son

of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they

married wives, they were given in marriage,

until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

and the flood came, and destroyed them all.”

6. GOD’S HOLY DAYS ARE SIGNS OF OUR ALLEGIANCE

TO HIM BECAUSE THEY ARE SHADOWS REVEALING

HIMSELF TO US AS THE MESSIAH.

Hebrews 10:1&5 “For the law having a shadow of good things to

come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those

sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the

comers thereunto perfect….5Wherefore when he cometh into the

world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body

hast thou prepared me”

JESUS is that very image, the body of the invisible God, who came

to shed His own blood for His church:

Acts 20:28 “Take heed therefore unto

yourselves, and to all the flock, over the

which the Holy Ghost hath made you

overseers, to feed the church of God, which

he hath purchased with his own blood.”

The law of blood ordinances requiring the shedding the blood of

lambs and bulls and goats for sins, was a shadow of the blood of

the new covenant shed once for all by our LORD JESUS Christ.

Hebrews 10:8-10 “Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and

burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not… 9 then said

he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that

he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified

through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

Colossians 2:16-17 “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in

drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the

sabbath days: 17 which are a shadow of things to come; but the

body is of Christ.”

God’s weekly and yearly Sabbaths, are the sign or mark of God: The

old covenant was sealed by the blood of lambs sacrificed to pay for

sin, and the new covenant is sealed by the blood of our LORD

JESUS Christ – the body of the blood covenant is Christ!

7. JESUS IS COMING FOR THOSE WHO KEEP HIS SIGN.

Why is our observing God’s Sabbaths so important? Remember? It

is because God’s Sabbath Day is a sign between God and His people,

the sign of His covenant with them, so we must remember!

Revelation 14:12; 22:14 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they

that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” 22:14

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right

to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

1 Thes 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a

shout, …and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 then we which are alive

and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet

the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

Jesus is coming in His body that was made to be sacrificed for our

sins, to gather His eagles together to heaven to live with Him forever

in the beautiful heavenly city He has prepared for us!

Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord

shall renew their strength; they shall mount up

with wings as eagles….”

Luke 17:36-37 “Two men shall be in the field; the

one shall be taken, and the other left. 37 And they

answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And

he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is,

thither will the eagles be gathered together.”

As the days of Noah, the wicked left behind while the righteous are

caught up to the ark of heaven for 1000 years are destroyed by fire.

2 Peter 3:6-10 “Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with

water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the

same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of

judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of

this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a

thousand years as one day…. 10But the day of the Lord will come as a

thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great

noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and

the works that are therein shall be burned up.”

8. GOD’S TRUTHS & TIMES WERE EXCHANGED FOR A LIE.

God’s word tells us that evil men would come, who would change

God’s truth, and cause God’s people to forget their God.

Daniel 7:25 “And he shall speak great words

against the most High, and shall wear out the saints

of the most High, and think to change times and

laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a

time and times and the dividing of time.”

Daniel prophesied of the false spirit of antichrist operating through

the deceived leadership of God’s church, to change God’s times and

laws, long before the Savior was born. Jesus said this antichrist was

already at work before He went back to heaven:

1 John 2:18 “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard

that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists;

whereby we know that it is the last time.”

Daniel’s prophecy has been fulfilled from the time of Jesus Christ!

Men have replaced God’s Holy days that He commanded to be

observed forever with thinly disguised pagan fertility festivals.

Jeremiah 10:2 “Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the

heathen ….”

Deuteronomy 12:1-3 “These are the statutes and judgments, which

ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers

giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth. 2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which

ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and

upon the hills, and under every green tree: 3 and ye shall overthrow

their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire;

and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy

the NAMES of them out of that place.”

But we have not destroyed the names and practice the ways of

the heathen! Does God’s word not apply because we say we are

not ‘worshipping’ when we copy the holidays of the heathen?

9. MANY RECEIVE THE MARK OF THE BEAST BY

BELIEVING FALSE SPIRITS ARE HOLY SPIRIT FIRE.

Revelation 13:13-18 “And he doeth great wonders, so that he

maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14: And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of

those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast;

saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an

image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15: And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that

the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as

would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16: And

he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,

to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17: And

that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the

name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18: Here is wisdom.

Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast:

for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred

threescore and six.”

• You must not receive the false 3-man image of God

in your mind, nor in your heart, nor accept the false

name of God from the Beast System, Trinity, in

place of God’s holy name JESUS (Yeshua), nor

accept the mark of the false Sabbath.

• The Mark of the Beast manifests itself in observing the false

weekly sabbath of Sunday, along with the other pagan festivals that

were adopted by the Beast System of Rome, in place of the Holy

Days that God gave to His people to be observed forever. Replacing

God’s Holy Days with pagan holidays MARKS the people

observing them, revealing to whom they give allegiance.

Matthew 15:13 “But he answered and said, Every plant, which my

heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.”

God's Sabbath days will be observed throughout the coming

millennium and throughout eternity, as memorials of salvation by

God’s design that these memorials shall never be forgotten.

10. SPRING FEASTS SHOW GOD’S PLAN FULFILLED

God made appointments for our future in Leviticus chapter 23:

• The weekly Sabbath (Verse 3),

• The Feasts of Passover and Unleavened Bread: (Verses 5-14)

• The Passover reveals Jesus our Passover Lamb, who was pierced

and broken for us (Matza broken), then shed His own blood to cover

our sins (Wine), then wrapped in linen and hidden for 3 days (3 cups),

then discovered by a child and returned to the Father! In 7 days (7

is completion) God completely rids His church of sin and hypocrisy at

His 2nd coming!

• The Almighty God Himself in the Lord Jesus

Christ (God’s visible image) is coming again to

finally purge His people of sin by calling us up

from the grave by the breath of His mouth like

Lazurus, bringing us to life for the redemption

of our bodies to live with Him forever!

• The Feast of Pentecost: (Verses 15-16) This is the appointed time for

the early harvest. This feast was first fulfilled 50 days after the first

coming of Jesus when He sent His Spirit to baptize the 120 persons

waiting in the upper room, empowering them to preach His word

with boldness as we are still empowered today!

• This feast day also fulfilled the Consummation of Israel within the

generation of Jesus’ disciples, when 144,000 believing Jews

(spiritual virgins not defiled by false doctrines), who were the only

believers alive at any time who could belong to both old and new

covenant (these are the two witnesses who were killed and lay unburied in the

streets of Jerusalem for 3 ½ years). These 144,000 were the two

witnesses of both old and new Israel, who rose to their feet when

Jesus called them up like Lazurus, as was recorded by Josephus.

These were the early harvest during Passover that consummated

God’s promise to old covenant Israel which was fulfilled in 70 AD.

• This consummation of God’s covenant with Abraham was before

the ‘latter rain’ of the 2nd coming of Christ when He comes for the

final gathering, of believing Israel along with those grafted into

Israel by faith, at the end of the world: These are the mixed multitude

(prefigured by the outpouring of His Spirit at Pentecost).

11. FALL FEASTS SHOW GOD’S PLAN FOR the FUTURE

Jeremiah 31:31-33 also in Hebrews 8: 8-10 & Hebrews 10:16-17

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant

with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to

the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by

the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt… 33 But this shall be the

covenant I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the

LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;

and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”

• THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS: Leviticus 23:23-25

• This is the appointed time for the

gathering of God's people at the second

coming of the Messiah. Nothing of any

importance has of yet happened on this

Feast for even a partial fulfillment, so we

know this feast has not yet been fulfilled.

• THE DAY OF ATONEMENT: (Verses 26-32) This is when God

and His people will become at-one; when Jesus the Messiah will

bring the redeemed into His Father's presence.

• THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES: (Verses 39-43) This feast shall

have future fulfillment when the Father God in Jesus Christ, the 3rd

Temple, comes to permanently live with His people.

• THE LAST GREAT DAY: (Verses 39-43) This Feast prefigures the

last day that never ends, when Jesus in the glory of the Father and

His own glory descends with His saints to the earth made new.

Isaiah 8: 16 “Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.”

Exodus 31:16-17 “Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the

sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a

perpetual covenant. 17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel

for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the

seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.”

God’s Sabbaths are a perpetual sign between God and his people,

and by His Holy Spirit he writes, signs and seals the legal document

of His New Covenant upon their hearts & minds, which will be

fulfilled according to the holy Times of God’s calendar.

12. JESUS OUR CREATOR SHALL MAKE ALL THINGS NEW.

The prophets foretold that the 1st and latter rains would be fulfilled

by the 1st and 2nd coming of the LORD, and that Sabbath days

would continue at His coming, both in heaven & on the new earth.

Isaiah 66:22-23 “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which

I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your

seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from

one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall

all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.”

After the 1st resurrection, all from the beginning of time who died in

faith, shall live and reign with Christ for 1000 years in heaven!

Revelation 20:4-6 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and

judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that

were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God,

and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither

had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and

they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest

of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.

This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part

in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power,

but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with

him a thousand years.”

We know that the risen saints rule and reign with Christ in heaven

for 1000 years, because AFTER the 1000 years finished the saints

with Jesus in the heavenly city, descend to the earth made new!

Revelation 21:1-2 “And I saw a new

heaven and a new earth: for the first

heaven and the first earth were passed

away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new

Jerusalem, coming down from God

out of heaven, prepared as a bride

adorned for her husband.”

13. GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOU AND ME.

1. God established His calendar at creation long before forming the

Jewish nation, and His Holy Days are for all of His people.

2. God marked His New Year with significant events.

3. Babylon and Caesar changed God’s New Year set to begin on

Nissan 1, to January 1, to honor the Roman god, Janus.

4. God established His holy days as shadows of events in His future

plan of salvation.

5. God’s Holy Day Sabbaths are a sign of our allegiance to Him

because they are shadows revealing that He is the Messiah.

6. Jesus is coming for those who have faith and keep His sign.

7. God’s truths & times were exchanged for lies that are continued

by God’s people until this day.

8. Many receive the mark of the beast through receiving false

spirits thinking they are receiving Holy Spirit fire.

9. Spring Feasts show God’s salvation plan that is fulfilled.

10. Fall Feasts show God’s salvation plan for the future.

11. Jesus our Creator shall come to make all things new!

12. Jesus will come to call us up to heaven to rule and reign with

Him for 1000 years, then like Noah in the Ark, Jesus will

descend with the saints in the heavenly city to the earth that has

been made new, where we shall live with Him forever!

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for your Holy Day Sabbaths that reveal

to us who you are, and your plan to save all who will come to you

and be saved. Help us to rest in you completely and keep your

Sabbaths so we will remember that you are the creator and living

God of heaven who loves us and came to die on the cross in our

place, so that we can be saved and live forever with you. Thank you

for your promises, and for your Holy Spirit that lives in me. Help

me to leave behind every habit and every spot that separates me from

you, and help me to live my life for you each and every day, in Jesus

name, Amen.

14. CHILDREN’S STORY: Do Not Miss the Appointed Time!

Tracy was so excited because she

was going with her whole family to

the happiest place on earth,

Disneyland! Tracy’s mom showed

her the tickets, and she was so

excited! They had waited for this

day for three whole months, but the

morning they were supposed to

leave, everyone had important

things to do before they could go,

so it was just after noon before they arrived at the entrance gate to

go in, and the gates were closed! The park attendants said they were

very sorry but the park was filled to capacity, and they were too late

to get in. Tracy and her family were so sad that they cried, but there

was nothing they could do but take a very sad picture. They had

missed the appointed time.

God gave us the appointed times of His Holy Days and Sabbaths to

teach us His beautiful plan of salvation. Every event fulfilling the

prophesies of God’s 1st coming happened on the appointed Holy

Days of God’s calendar, and the prophecies of His 2nd coming shall

also come to pass at the appointed times of His Holy Days that we

observe each year, because Jesus does not want us to miss His

coming to call us home!

This true story of Tracy and her family missing out on Disneyland

because they were too late, reminds us of another appointed time,

when Jesus shall call His people up to the heavenly city to live with

Him forever! That day will be the most wonderful day ever, but it

will be just like the door of the Ark that had to be shut to keep

everybody safe inside; Jesus wants you to come and be saved while

the door is open! God does not want you to miss living with Him

forever in beautiful heaven because He loves you! Jesus said that

His coming will be just like in the days of Noah, when only a few

came in before the door was closed, so tell everyone, “Jesus loves

you and calls you to come to Him while the door is open!”

JESUS PROMISES ME A HAPPY NEW

YEAR WITH HIM IN HEAVEN FOREVER!

Exodus 31:13 “Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying,

Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and

you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the

LORD that doth sanctify you.”

2 Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in him (Jesus)

are yes, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”
