    Project #6Customer : Opnext, USARole : Software EngineerProject : Opnext-Arena IntegrationEnvironment : Oracle Forms 6i, SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*Loader,

Description: Arena PLM is a hosted system which stores and manages product design andmanufacturing data. When a company purchases Arena PLM, Arena becomes the system ofrecord for all items and BOMs. For example, the customer enters all new Parts into Arena, creates new BOMs in Arena, and modifies Parts and BOMs. In addition, Arena usuallybecomes the system of record for AML data (Approved Manufacturer List) and often for AVLdata (Approved Vendor List) as well. Many customers who purchase Arena PLM also have

ERP systems. Even though Arena becomes the system of entry for product data it does notreplace the ERP system, because the ERP system will still be used for materials resourceplanning and inventory tracking, and usually remains the primary system of record for costdata and for purchasing functions.

Therefore, it is necessary that Arena PLM is able to send data to the ERP system on an on-going basis so that the ERP system always has the latest item master, BOM, and AML/AVLdata.
