February 15th 2013 marked a partial merging of two locally-owned, well-

established oil companies, with Brewer-Hendley Oil’s acquisition of Nisbet

Oil’s Lubricants division.

Brewer-Hendley, the largest Chevron lubricant distributor in the Carolinas,

will operate Nisbet’s lubricants division under the name Brewer-Hendley Oil

Co, and Nisbet will continue to supply fuels in the Carolinas from its two

plants in Charlotte and Lincolnton NC.

With over a century between them in the business and a shared commitment

to their valued customers, the similarities between the companies are many.

Both firms are family owned & managed and they were founded on the same

core values, work ethic and dedication to service. Brewer-Hendley and Nisbet

are respected in the petroleum industry nationally, as well as within their com-

munities for their involvement in multiple charities.

Nisbet is headquartered on Baxter Street in the historic Cherry neighborhood

near downtown Charlotte, NC. Founded in 1927, it grew from a home heating

oil business to providing quality petroleum products to the two Carolinas.

Nisbet continues to supply fuel to convenience stores, transportation fleets,

construction, and to the power generation industry. Continued on pg 2

Brewer-Hendley relocated their main office five years ago to Forest Hills School Rd N in

Marshville, NC, just off of Hwy 74. The move to the larger facility proved to be a necessity,

since a good portion of the massive warehouse is now housing their latest venture – the manu-

facturing of Blue Sky DEF {Diesel Exhaust Fluid}, which is being marketed throughout GA, AL,

MS and the Carolinas. In addition to their Lubricants and Commercial Fueling divisions, they

own and operate Market Express Inc., their convenience store chain established in 1988,

consisting of sixteen locations within North and South Carolina. Brewer-Hendley also services

and supplies an additional 32 dealer stores in the surrounding area.

Southco 28th Annual Super Show

Southco’s 28th Annual Super Show, held at the Greenville NC Convention Center, is an

event showcasing Southco’s newest products & innovations. In appreciation of their custom-ers’ support, pre-show events included golf-

ing, dinner and entertainment. Market Express’ managers enjoyed the chance

to meet with vendors, see all of the new products & have a little fun!

Brewer-Hendley and Market Express are Going

Green & doing their part to save the environment!

Market Express has upgraded to more efficient

LED canopy & pole lights at their Indian Trail,

Stallings, Hartsville and Griers stores, as well as

adding T8 Fluorescent bulbs with electronic

ballasts throughout the interiors. Their goal is to

save over 50% energy usage in the areas where

they upgraded these fixtures. In addition to energy

savings, maintenance costs should decrease

drastically due to the new bulbs having a much

longer life.

Brewer-Hendley is also upgrading the entire office

and warehouse to the much more efficient T5 and

T8 Fluorescent bulbs and ballasts. In an effort to

save even more energy, several areas in the

warehouse will have motion sensors attached to

the lights, only coming on while someone is

working in the area and going off on a timer.
