retirement of Judy Mills as our Director of Music
here at All Saints Parish. Judy will be with us through the end
of August. Judy has been playing music, directing the choir,
leading us all in music and doing all of the behind the scenes
work for almost 20 years here at All Saints Parish.
Her work and passion for music has made our worship
experience wonderful and more meaningful!
Thank you for all you have done for us these past
20 years! You will be missed! May joy and peace
abound as you continue on your life’s journey!

Questions of the Week
First Reading
The Lord taught the prophet Elijah not to look
for him in the usual places. When have you
found God’s voice in an unexpected circumstance?
Second Reading
Paul was puzzled and deeply saddened over fellow
Jews (God’s covenantal people) who did not believe
that Jesus was the long-awaited Messiah. What
convinces you of Jesus’ identity as our Lord and
Savior?
Gospel Reading
Peter shows himself to be a man of “little faith” when
faced with the grave danger of drowning.
Who are the people in your life who show a depth of
faith in times of extreme duress?
Mike Wathen and Peggy Epley,
our video Mass editors
The All Saints Saturday morning routine during this
Covid crisis has been to record our Sunday Mass
with Fr. Jay at 10:30, and then have it posted
for viewing on our website/App by 3 pm.
There is a bit of work to prepare
the recording for posting.
The two that have been faithfully carrying out
this task from the beginning are volunteer
Mike Wathen and staff member Peggy Epley.
They have given up every Saturday morning since mid-
March to make sure we can view this recorded Mass.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to both.
Election Day is November 3!
Are you registered to vote? If not you can do so
online at http://www.indianavoters.com/
Even if you have registered to vote, you can check to
make sure your voter registration is accurate also on
http://www.indianavoters.com/
Do you need an absentee ballot? If you need an
absentee ballot, you can request one through the
Indiana Secretary of State’s website at
in.gov/sos/elections/2402.htm.
You can request your absentee ballot now!
Note that if you want to mail in your absentee ballot,
you must meet one of eleven (11) criteria/reasons for
voting by absentee. These include reasons such as: you
have a disability; you are at least 65 years of age; You
will be confined due to illness or injury or you will be
caring for an individual confined due to illness or injury
during the 12 hours that the polls are open. There are
other reasons you may qualify; these are just a few
examples.
Important things to remember about voting by
absentee: Please remember that your absentee ballot
must be received by Clerk by election day! Postmarks
do not count! Because of COVID-19, it is likely that
many more people than usual will be voting by
absentee ballot this election. Please remember to mail
your absentee ballot with plenty of time to arrive at
the Clerk’s Office. The United States Postal Service has
recommended that you give your ballot at least one
week to arrive at your local Clerk’s Office.

Indiana Bishops extend dispensation from
Sunday Mass obligation to November 1
Bishop Joseph M. Siegel has issued the following
statement regarding the dispensation from the
Sunday and holy day Mass obligations in the
Diocese of Evansville:
“While commending our pastors and pastoral life
coordinator, who have gone to great lengths to assure
safe worship spaces in our churches, the Indiana
bishops have decided to extend the dispensation from
the obligation of Sunday and holy day Mass
attendance until November 1, 2020, due to the
increase in COVID-19 cases in our state.
“The dispensation is intended to help protect the
health and well-being of: those 65 and older and
those of any age with underlying health conditions;
those who are caring for or living with these
individuals; those who have serious concerns about
the health risks of coming to church for the
celebration of the Eucharist.”
“These persons are urged to continue to participate in
the Sunday liturgy via live stream or other media.
“While this dispensation applies to all Catholics,
parishioners not under these risk factors are
encouraged to attend Mass, following the health
protocols put in place by their respective parishes –
especially wearing face coverings and practicing social
distancing when coming to church.”
“Let us continue to pray for all those affected by the
COVID-19 health crisis, for health professionals caring
for the sick, and for researchers working to develop
treatments and a vaccine.”

In today’s Gospel, we hear Jesus say to Peter as he is
beginning to sink, “O you of little faith, why did you
doubt?”
Do we ever doubt that God loves us?
Do we ever doubt that God forgives us?
What do we have in our life that we need to give over
control to God?
In today’s Gospel, we hear…
“Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the
water.”
He said, “Come.”
Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water
toward Jesus.
But when he saw how strong the wind was he became
frightened;
and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught
Peter,
and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you
doubt?”
After they got into the boat, the wind died down.
Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying,
“Truly, you are the Son of God.”
When we reflect on our lives, have we trusted in God?
Have we followed what God has asked us to do?
This week, think of a way to share your faith with
someone. We never know who is in need of
encouragement or support. Find a way to trust in God
and be of help to one other person.

We Care Blessings
In April, when the Federal stimulus funds
were arriving, All Saints suggested the idea
of giving a portion of your funds to an
All Saints We Care Fund that would then be disbursed
to parishioners and others in need.
We especially wanted to help those whose livelihood
has been impacted due to the shutdown measures.
We are happy to report that nearly $15,000 has been
donated to this fund.
Over the past couple of month, we have been
encouraging people in need to apply for this help or
encourage others they knew to apply. A small
committee has been reviewing these requests and so
far $5500 have been disbursed to 12 households. The
funds have mostly helped with rent and utility costs.
For one person, it meant repairing their vehicle. It is
very gratifying to know that we were able to ease
some of the burden caused by this crisis. It is also
inspiring to know that we have many generous people
in our parish. Obviously, we still have significant
money yet to disburse. If you yourself or someone
you know needs a bit of help, We Care applications
can be found on our website or through our app
under Coping with COVID.
All Saints Meal Train Ministry
When a loved one is going through a challenging
time—maybe they’ve had a baby or experienced a
loss in the family—it’s common to bring them a meal.
Meal trains are a way for multiple people to
coordinate that meal sharing. Our Women’s Group
has started this ministry and if you would like to be
part of this group, please call the parish office
(812) 423-5209.
Purchase SCRIP at the Parish Office
We are happy to announce that you may
purchase SCRIP gift cards at the Parish
