ABSTRACT

This Owner's Activity Report summarizes the results of the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station (NMPNS). Unit 2,American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Section XI Inservice Inspection, Risk-Informed Inspection andContainment Examinations performed during the 2008 Refueling Outage (RFO-11) , from March 22, 2008 throughApril 17. 2008, and the second and last refueling outage of the Third Inservice Inspection Period that started on 5 April2005 and ended on 4 April 2008.

As an alternate to the requirements otthe ASME, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (B&PVC), Section XI, Article IWA­6000, NMPNS has implemented ASME Code Case N-532-1, "Alternative Requirements to Repair and ReplacementDocumentation Requirements and Inservice Summary Report Preparation and Submission as Required by IWA-4000and IWA-6000, Section Xl, Division 1",

This report provides the close-out of the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit 2 Second Ten-Year In-serviceInspection Interval and the Unit 2 First Ten-Year Containment Inspection Interval.

OWNER'S ACTIVITY REPORTS - FORM OAR-1

Owner's Activity Report Form OAR-1 were prepared and certified upon completion of the 2008 refueling outage(RFO-11) Examination activity for the following inspection plans:

• NMP2-ISI-006, lnservice Inspection Plan and Schedule• NMP2-RHSI-006, Risk-Informed Inspection Plan and Schedule• NMP2-CISI -006. Containment Inspection Plan and Schedule .

In addition to the Owner's Activity Report, Form OAR-1, the following Tables are also included:

c. Abstract of Repairs, Replacements or Corrective Measures Required for Continued Service, Tab le 3,identifies those items containing flaws or relevant conditions that exceeded the ASME Section XI acceptancecriteria (IWX-3000) or in the case of supports IWF-3000 acceptance criteria; even though the discovery ofthe flaw or relevant condition that necessitated the repair, replacement or corrective measure, may not haveresulted from an exam ination or test required by Section Xl, and provides such information as Code Class ,whether the item is a repair , replacement or corrective action , item description, description of work, if the flawor relevant condition was found during a scheduled Section XI Examination or test, date completed and therepair replacement plan number.

In accordance with ASME Section XI, IWB-2412 (a), with the exception of the examinations that may bedeferred until the end of the inspection interval as specified in Table IWB-2500-1 , and for those examinationswhich NMPNS has requested and received approva l in the form of relief request, the required examinationsin each examination category have been completed for the Third Inservice Inspection Period in accordancewith Tab le IWB-2412-1 .
