The home is a grade II listed building which was previously the Officers’ Mess for the Green Howards

Regiment and is situated in a quiet residential area, known as Garden Village, close to the town centre.

The home has lovely enclosed gardens which provide outside seating for our residents. There is excellent road

Services and HealthMedical attendance is provided by local General Practitioners. Residents can continue

with their own doctor should they move within the immediate area.

A Chiropodist visits every 6 weeks and a visiting Dentist and Optician provide annual

'check-ups', although additional visits are arranged to suit individual needs. Also on hand

are a Hairdresser and Aromatherapist, who all visit once a week.

ActivitiesStimulation and relaxation are very important parts of the care we offer. We focus on a

balance of individual, one-to-one and group activities. These include topical discussions

based on newspaper readings, music and dancing, arts and crafts, stimulating indoor

activity, walking and visits to local tourist and historical centres.

I work as a personal carer for an agency and have recently

worked in various homes. Nightingales’ activities are becoming more

ambitious by the day and the care staff are, as always, fabulous.
