THE MATCHUPThis will be the most significant game in UFL regular

season history to date, as both Omaha and Sacramentodesperately need wins to stay alive in the ChampionshipGame race.

The Mountain Lions, playing their final game of the regularseason, must win to improve to 4-4 to have any shot at theChampionship Game. If they do win, they would need Floridaand Hartford to each lose one of its final two games, and thenSacramento would win the tiebreaker based on theircombined head-to-head record against Florida and Omaha.Of all four UFL teams still able to get to 4-4, Sacramento has

the best chance of any to win a tiebreaker at 4-4.Meanwhile, Omaha controls its own destiny, needing to

win its final two games to clinch a spot in the ChampionshipGame. With a loss at Sacramento, Omaha would be forced towin its final game against Florida and need Hartford to win outto get into the Championship Game.

THE SERIESThe Nighthawks lead the all-time series 1-0. Omaha

defeated Sacramento, 20-17, on October 2 at RosenblattStadium on a late touchdown pass from Jeff Garcia to JebPutzier. Sacramentos Fabrizio Scaccia missed a 55-yard fieldgoal with 1:46 left that would have tied the game.

THE COACHESJeff Jagodzinski (Wisconsin-Whitewater, 85) leads the

Nighthawks after guiding Boston College to a 20-8 record andtwo ACC Championship Game appearances in 2007-08.Jagodzinski has coached in the collegiate and professionalranks for 26 years.

Thirteen-year NFL Head Coach Dennis Green (Iowa, 71)is back for his second season in the UFL. The formerMinnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals Head Coach led theCalifornia Redwoods to a 2-4 record last season, before theteam relocated to Sacramento in 2010.

REMEMBERING THE RUMBLE AT ROSENBLATTIt was an important early season game in the United Football League. It was the expansion Omaha

Nighthawks against the Sacramento Mountain Lions for a quick leg up in the 2010 UFL standings. It was theUFLs second ever sellout crowd - both at Rosenblatt Stadium. It was a rare matchup of two veteranquarterbacks who simply want to continue to play professional football, even if the National Football Leaguewouldnt give them the opportunity.

It was the Rumble at Rosenblatt, on October 2, and it lived up to the hype.

Omaha jumped out to a 12-0 lead late in the first half, but Sacramento answered with 17 unansweredpoints - capped off by an early fourth quarter touchdown pass from quarterback Daunte Culpepper to widereceiver Taye Biddle. Up stepped Garcia, the NFL Pro Bowl passer, who fired a 13-yard touchdown pass totight end Jeb Putzier to steal a 20-17 Nighthawks victory with 4:59 left in the fourth quarter.

Now flash forward six weeks. The Nighthawks (3-3) and the Mountain Lions (3-4) are preparing for acritical game Saturday night at Hornet Stadium - one which wont knock Omaha out of contention for a spot inthe UFL Championship Game on November 27 at Rosenblatt Stadium, but one which would eliminateSacramento with a loss.

The stakes are high for Garcia vs. Culpepper, Round 2, and it has much more to do with theChampionship Game implications than Garcias return to his native California. Its about sudden death for thehome-standing Mountain Lions, and its about the Nighthawks setting themselves up for a potential winner-takes-all game at home in Week 10 against the Florida Tuskers.

UFL PLAYOFF PICTUREWith only one spot left in the UFL Championship Game and all four teams still alive with two weeks left in theseason, the last four games on the UFL schedule are sure to create a lot of suspense and hype. Only LasVegas, at 5-2, has clinched a spot in the UFL Championship Game. This week, Sacramento and Hartford faceabsolute must-win situations, while Omahas and Floridas chances would be severely diminished with losses.
