Nirma International Conference on Management(NICOM) is the annual international managementconference organized by the Institute of Management,Nirma University. NICOM aims at bringing togetheracademicians, researchers, and practicing managers todeliberate on contemporary developments and issuesabout businesses in the modern era.

Human Resource Management (HRM) practices aretoday recognized as significant contributors toorganisational and business performance in any givencontext. From being an Industrial Relations (IR)function transitioning its way to becoming a businesspartner function, the philosophy and practice of HumanResource Management have transcended to a new levelof significance. The era of Industry 4.0, with ‘pace’ and‘agility’ as its critical differentiators, calls upon theHRM and People Management practice to furtherundergo a phenomenal transition for sustained businessrelevance.

Thus, the current corporate landscape has thrown upnew challenges for the Human Resource Management(HRM) function redefining its context, practices, andoutcomes. With the emergence of new technologies andnew business models substantially redefining thecontext, traditional talent management, and peopleengagement practices have paved the way for renewedpeople’s experiences in organisations. HRM practicesfocused on creating high-performance workorganizations, leading to enhanced businessperformance and organizational effectiveness (OE) arethe new business needs. Technological innovationssuch as artificial intelligence, digitization, robotics, andsimilar technologies have become critical elements forredesigning human resources management practices forenhanced functional and organizational effectiveness.The future success of organizations will inevitablydepend upon their adaptability to change and creatingpositive people experiences.

Submission GuidelinesThe conference is open for academicians, researchers, industry practitioners and students.

Only original and unpublished research work is sought. Any submission which is identical orsubstantially similar to work already published, under review for conference or publication willnot be considered.

Publication & Presentation OpportunitiesAll abstracts will be published in a book of abstracts called Prastavana. Selected manuscriptsbased on blind peer review will be published in a Compendium as Conference Proceedings to bebrought out by a reputed publisher with ISBN Number.

Selected manuscripts after clearing the journal review process might be consideredfor publication in Nirma University Journal of Business and Management Studies(ISSN: 2249-5630)Participation and presentation in the conference does not guarantee the publicationof the manuscript.The best paper from the Academicians / Industry and student categories will beawarded with a cash prizes.

In 1994, Padma Shri Dr. Karsanbhai K. Patel, the founder of the Nirma Group of Industries and internationallyacknowledged entrepreneur, crystallized his long-cherished dream of establishing world-class institutions forprofessional education in Gujarat. He founded the Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF), which hasestablished many leading institutions offering undergraduate, post-graduate, and Doctoral level programs.Functioning under the aegis of NERF, the university presently includes the Institute of Technology, Institute ofManagement, Institute of Pharmacy, Institute of Law, Institute of Science, Institute of Architecture, Institute ofCommerce, and Institute of Design. Ahmedabad was founded in 1411 AD and derives its name from the founder Sultan Ahmed Shah, Situated on thebanks of the river Sabarmati, Ahmedabad is known for its beautiful monuments of historical and archeologicalimportance. The city embraces the traditional culture and heritage as well as modernization and industrial growth.Ahmedabad is famous as the Land of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and is known for its vibrancy andliveliness. The largest city of Gujarat and the sixth-largest city of India, it has a population of more than 8 million. Itis a major industrial and service center in India. It is the economic capital of the state of Gujarat. Ahmedabad is theonly city in India declared as a heritage city by UNESCO. Ahmedabad offers something to celebrate all year roundthat ranges from celebrations of 'Deepawali' and 'Dushehra' to the all night long folk dances of 'Raas-Garba' and funduring 'Kite Festival'. The city has places like Science City, Akshardham Temple, Gandhi Ashram, and Adalaj Ni Vaav(stepwell). The weather in January is pleasant with a temperature around 14-20'C. Several nearby tourist spots likeNalsarovar Bird Sanctuary (80kms), Lothal: 4500-year-old Harappan settlement (85 km), Sun Temple of Modhera (99km), Randchodrai Temple in Dakor (49 km) are also worth a visit.
