PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Hello everyone,
Well, the flea market is over, and our car show is on the horizon. Steve Ilsley has planned our first Sunday tour already, with weekday lunch tours on the way.
We really could use some additional people to host a tour or activity for this year. It doesn't have to be the same kind of tour. Any excuse to drive our old cars and min-gle with friends is good. A trip to a car cruise, a picnic, a drive in the country, all are fun. Choose a date and start planning.
See you soon.

ANNUAL NHHAC ANTIQUE & CLASSIC CAR SHOW Sunday, June 2, 2013
Members: Please pre-register your car(s) for the show. There is no fee for member cars, but we need to
know how many to plan for and what years will be represented.
CAN YOU HELP? Brandon Hayward, a high school senior, has chosen a Car Show as his senior project. It will
be held on Saturday, April 20, at the St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars, PA from 12:00
noon to 4:00 PM. We always say that we want to get more young people involved—here’s
our chance!

NORTH HILLS HISTORIC AUTO CLUB MINUTES
March 10, 2013
After the Pledge of Allegiance, President Jan Smith asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes of the February 2013 meeting. There were none. Mike Quinn made a motion to accept the Minutes, and Ann Quinn seconded. Jan Smith read the Treasurer’s Report. The club has a balance of $6906.42 in the treasury. Steve Illsley and Bob Goetz seconded.
Jack Dougherty was in the hospital with pneumonia, but is home now.
Old Business Daryl Elliott reported the Flea Market was a success, and lots of people were there to help set up and clean up. There was a total profit of $1090.50. Thank you Daryl, and everyone who worked to make the event a success.
Steve Illsley reported the Blackwater Falls weekend was great.
Pat O’Neill reported that 12 people attended the Rich Fowler Seminar. Jan Smith also gave a summary of what he learned there. Thanks Pat, for hosting this event.
New Business Joe Somerville reported that he visited the Mars High School property, and has a plan for the field set up. We will be able to use the cafeteria and restrooms. Jennie Barker has a new plan for registration.
Steve Illsley thanked everyone for honoring Patty, by putting her fa-vorite car on this year’s dash plaque. Steve announced the first lunch tour will be on April 21, 2013. The plan is to leave Stephen’s Barber Shop at exactly 9 AM. Proof of insurance is required to participate in the tour. You MUST make reservations to attend. There will be sign-up sheet at the April meeting, or you can call Steve’s cell phone 724-553-8386. It is important that Steve knows how many people will be coming in order to make reservations for breakfast. Steve is unable to plan so many tours this year, and asked for others to step up and plan some too.
There being no further business to discuss, Steve Illsley motioned to adjourn the meeting.
Respectfully submitted, Bonnie Smith

This year's theme is the 1920s and will take place on May 24. Organizers would like to "rent" one or two 1920s era cars for display purposes only, parked on the grass. This event typically draws about 800 guests. If you want your car in the display, contact Diane Walsh at 412-496-4821.

After Christmas Party Survey Results Five members responded to the survey in last month’s newsletter, which asked what you liked or didn’t like
about the After-Christmas party, and what you would like to see changed. Of the five, two did not attend, citing the cost. One who attended thought the price was high for a buffet.
(Note: the price went from $29 at the Hampton Banquet Hall in 2010 to $32 at the Chadwick in 2013.)
One said the food was “lousy,” another said it was better than previous years. One missed the hobby dis-plays, another thought everyone should win a prize. One thanked Jack for the centerpieces and give-aways,
and Mary Jo for the S’More kits everyone took home as party favors. Those who mentioned entertainment
praised Lou for his pre-dinner music.
Thanks to those of you who took the time to share your thoughts.

Attention all Judges
This year’s car show will have some changes that we hope will make
the job of judging easier on us and the participants. I will be putting
on a judges school the week before the show, we will have an an-
nouncement as we get closer to the show date of June 2, 2013. Most
of you have judged for years and we welcome new first time judges
who I will train and assist. I would ask all judges to pick your class
early and I would appreciate it if only one person signed up for each
class so that we will be assured we have enough judges to cover the
event. As always I look forward to working with you to make our
show a success.

The Wicker-Vitter bill was introduced into the U.S. Senate on February 14, 2013. The bill would overturn EPA waivers that allowed gasoline containing 15% ethanol (E15) to be used for many passenger cars and light trucks. As reported in the Feb-ruary NHHAC News, several groups have expressed concern about consumer con-fusion over the ethanol content of gasoline, and the risk of damage to cars that were not designed to use it.
