Avoid  Unnecessary  Procedures  Embalming  is  not  required  by  law,  and  alternative  cooling  methods  are  safe  and  effective  for  mandatory  waiting  periods,  or  one  to  three  days  in  the  home,  sanctuary,  or  private  setting.
