New York City was once a graffiti covered vandalized city where muggings, murders and rape were daily occurrences.

Mayor Giuliani changed all that by building a culture of

respect, hygiene and good citizenship. He and his Police Commissioner believed that dealing

with the small (graffiti, littering, anti-social behaviour) would take care of the big (major crime, theft, murder).

It worked! Their vision was quality of life and zero tolerance for

anything that prevented this.

WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR LIMITING BELIEFS

“But this is Tanzania Bwanaaaaa…” “I pay my taxes…. It’s the Governments

Planes weren’t invented with thoughts of ‘impossible’…

The radical transformation witnessed during the ‘Arab Spring’ didn’t start with the belief that it wasn’t

possible…

So why should we sabotage our possibility of having a safe, clean and green city?

"The most important thing that a sustainable city has to have is beauty. Because if something is not beautiful or not meaningful people do not take care of it and do not develop responsibility and they forget about it. Things that do not stick to memory in a positive way or at least in a stimulating way will never be taken care of." -Thomas Sieverts
