.Date & Location:December 8, 201610:30 am – 12 NoonEarlier this year CMS announced the adoption of the 2012 edition of the Health Care Facilities Code (HCFC), NFPA 99. The HCFC applies to all long care facilities and is intended for professionals involved in the design, construction, maintenance, and inspection of health care facilities. The HCFC requires facilities to evaluate the risk level of systems and equipment in the long term care facility. Depending on the risk assessment findings, the long care facility are then instructed to meet minimum criteria for the following systems: gas and vacuum system, electrical system, electrical equipment, HVAC and gas equipment. The OHCA LSC/Disaster management committee has developed two risk assessment templates for long term care facilities. Competing these is required by CMS and maintained for surveyor review. A new K Tag – K901 has been established to confirm a facility’s compliance with the risk assessment requirement. This webinar will discuss the specific requirements of the Health Care Facilities Rule, and will provide guidance on appropriate compliance with each requirement allowing organizations to perform a thorough risk analysis of their existing facilities.
