MISSION STATEMENT
What defines a person’s potential? Or perhaps a better question should be, how can one fully unlock their human potential? We can define human potential as a paradox by where our internal perspective’s meets the trials and triumphs of our experiences. This paradox is both a catalyst for growth, and a core reason potential within athletic development is widely misunderstood, much less achieved. Many athletes fail to achieve their desired results because too much of an emphasis is placed on the physical aspects of training rather than the full picture of athletic development as a whole. We at FitSpeed recognize these misconceptions and have simplified a method with synchronized ingredients to unlock the best possible athletic version of you.
UNLOCKING
POTENTIAL HUMAN

THE FOUR PILLARS
1. MENTAL FITNESSMental fitness promotes the idea of a dynamic concept, not a fixed outcome. Athletes are in constant flux as they progress and develop through their performance life cycle. Although athletes can reach high levels of mental fitness as they journey through their long term athletic developmental stages, it becomes a necessity for them to understand that their mental capabilities will constantly be challenged as the demands, conditions, and pressures they face continually change over time.
2. PHYSICAL FITNESSPhysical fitness is defined as any type of stimulus that effects the physical elements of sports such as mobility, flexibility, strength, power, acceleration, deceleration, dynamic vision, and reaction time. Each of these elements need to be addressed to ensure an athletes success within competition. Fit Speed builds its physical training around five basic principles; overload, goal-specific, micro-progressions, regressions, and lateralization’s. This ensures that our focus is of quality not quantity.
3. RESTORATIONAthletes understand the importance of physical training for optimal performance and improvement. However, rest and recovery is also a significant aspect of athletic development because it allows the body time to repair and regenerate soft tissue between work outs. During the
designated recovery period, the body can adapt to stresses associated with physical training, and replenish muscle glycogen (energy stores). There are two different categories of recovery:
1. Intermediate or short-term – This is the most common form of recovery and can occur during (low intensity active recovery) or immediately after (cool down) an exercise event.
2. Long Term – This refers to recovery periods that are built into a seasonal training schedule and may include days or weeks incorporated into an annual athletic program, i.e. physical therapy, hot tub, cold tub, massage, etc.
4. NUTRITIONNutrition, in some ways can be considered the most crucial pillar for athletic development. It provides the primary source of energy needed to perform at a high level during intense prescribed physical activity. The foods we eat, and the timing in which we consume them, directly impacts strength training/athletic performance, the body’s ability to recovery/regenerate, body composition/transformation, and finally our mental sharpness and acuity. Carbohydrates powers your performance, protein aids muscle growth and repair, and hydration regulates the body’s ability to function. The proportion of carbohydrates, protein and hydration required depends on the type of work out, intensity, volume, and sport. Optimal nutrition is essential as it powers and supports the body towards its sports performance goals.

40 YARD DASH KEY POINTS
1. STANCE
2. FIRST STEP
3. FIRST 10 YARDS
4. TRANSITION
5. THE FINISH
40 YARD DASH
The 40 remains the biggest of all combine tests. Our training goal is to optimize current capabilities by conditioning the central nervous and neuromuscular systems to increase the firing patterns of fast twitch muscle fibers associated with SPEED. We break down the 40 into five components: 1. STANCE 2. FIRST STEP 3. FIRST 10 YARDS 4. TRANSITION 5. THE FINISH. Training each aspect independently ensures power output and efficiency.
VERTICAL & BROAD JUMP
The jump test may be the best measurement of raw explosiveness at the combine/pro day. These tests are a great indicator of explosiveness and lower body strength. FitSpeed will improve the power test through a variety of ways, including innovative and intense jump training, targeted strength training and proper practice of the sequencing of jump mechanics. Our jump training protocols are unmatched!
225 LB BENCH PRESS
The 225-bench test is a measurement of strength endurance. FitSpeed’s program will increase your maximal strength, while improving endurance and overall technique. By breaking the lift down into sections and training each separately, you will dominate the test.
L DRILL & SHUTTLE
These two drills measure an athlete’s change of direction, lateral quickness and explosiveness in short areas. To decrease your time in the change of direction events, we will break each drill down into individual steps. The key to these drills is learning how to decelerate and accelerate as fast as possible. In that regard, no one is better than FitSpeed.
RUNNING GATE ANALYSIS
Each athlete will undergo an individual evaluation and slow motion review of their sprint gate to identify biomechanical faults.
