Who is NFCB?

The National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NFCB) is a national membership organization of community-oriented, non-commercial radio stations. Large and small, rural and urban, eclectic or targeted toward specific communities, the member stations are distinguished by their commitment to localism and community participation and support. NFCB's members come from across the United States, from Alaska to Florida; from every major market to the smallest Native American reservation. While serving the communities that include New York, Minneapolis, San Francisco and other major markets, rural members are often the sole source of local and national daily news and information in their service area. NFCB's membership reflects the true diversity of the American population: 40% of the members serve rural communities, and 46% are minority radio services.

The Opportunity

The Community Radio Conference is the only all-purpose national gathering in public radio. The 300-500 people who come to the NFCB Conference are station managers, program directors, development directors, underwriting managers, news directors, music directors, producers, new media experts, and station board members, and most of them do not attend any other public radio conference the rest of the year. If you want to reach and make an impression on them, the best place to do it is at the Community Radio Conference.

Audience Demographics

• Station Managers looking at new platforms and making decisions about new media • Newly licensed stations looking for transmitters, CD players, computers, mics, mixing

boards and everything necessary to build a new station • Development Directors looking for CRM software • Membership Directors shopping for premiums for pledge drive • Development staff ready for mobile text giving or a vehicle donation program • Program Directors eager to enhance their schedules • Music Directors eager to hear new artists and different labels • Program Producers in search of the perfect piece of equipment • Stations converting to digital broadcasting
