Patricia Water
Injection System Murphy
JP Kenny Malaysia was awarded the Patricia and
Serendah Pipeline and Subsea Pre-FEED study for
a Water Injection System. Based on Patricia Gas
Production draw-down by 2013, Murphy would
like a feasibility study that would introduce two
Water Injection Wells that would allow for
increased production. Processed water is pumped
from 13km to the Water Injectors; whereas, the
control system is located 1km away on the
Patricia Platform. The subsea control system
(MCS, EPU, TUTA, Umbilical, SUTA and Flying
Leads) ranges from simple direct hydraulics to
complex MUX systems. Nexus has been engaged
in developing a report that will examine an array
of field architectures, using proven technologies.
The Cost Analysis is to ensure that CAPEX and
OPEX are optimized and if a system is selected,
the well economics is favorable.
Completed 2011
F14-F29 Conceptual

Gumusut-Kakap Shell
Gumusut-Kakap is a deepwater field located in
Sarawak Malaysian waters. JP Kenny Malaysia was
awarded the SIFOE contract by Shell Malaysia to
put an umbrella team that will pull in global
expertise to successfully deliver the project.
NEXUS was one of the global experts selected and
seconded to Shell. The scope of work was related
to Subsea Control System, Manifold System and
IWOCS/CWOR systems in a lead role. Well over
100 documents were reviewed and approved:
● FAT and EFAT TesEng of IWOCS HMI was
conducted in Norway Kongsberg
● EFAT tesEng of IWOCS and CWOR System
including the EDP / LRP breakaway system were
tested and approved (Johor Bahru Malaysia)
●ProducEon, WI and GI Manifold tesEng;
including control system testing was conducted
and approved in Lumut Malaysia
● HAZOP and HAZID's for IWOCS and Control
Systems were conducted in Shell's KL Deepwater
Office
Completed 2010
Festoon System BP
A new Festoon design was required by BP in the
Gulf of Mexico that would meet the stringent
standards - harsh Arctic environment. Nexus
provided the design verification package,
including a detailed design study that enabled EMI
to successfully quality, manufacture, test and
operate a Festoon System on the Parker Drilling
Rig.
Completed 2008
Hydraulic Power Unit
Development Chevron
Agbami was West Africa (Nigeria) deepwater
project. A total of four (4) Test Hydraulic Power
Units (THPU) were designed, manufactured and
tested in Houston Texas. The HPU manufacturer
experienced some challenges when DNV
discovered that some of the tubing "markings"
were hard to verify. Nexus conducted an onsite
investigation and provided its P.E.Stampings on a
calculation package. This design verification
document would serve to ensure that tubing
pressure integrity was per the 1:4 burst ratio.
Completed 2008
10 REVISION OCTOBER 2012
Pressure Vessel
Standardization Shell
Shell Geological Group in Houston Texas
implemented ASME pressure vessel codes by
releasing a new Shell DEP standard. Pressure
Vessels at Shell facilities for Soil Sampling were
closely examined and a complete design
verification package with detailed calculations
was provided; with P.E. Stampings. The package
was approved by Shell Netherlands and was
regarded a bench mark document.
