Optimizing your organization’s color printing with Canon’s multifunctional printers and document solutions can dramatically improve your overall business health through cutting wastage.

To draw a parallel, a healthy diet is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle. Color, like tasty treats, should be consumed in moderation. Printing too much in color will cause your organization’s budget to balloon exponentially if not kept in check.

Special Insight:THE COST OF COLOR

QWhy does color printing cost so much less with a multifunctional printer?

Cartridge-based printers often inflate print costs as it includes a disposable drum – an expensive device which you have to discard once the toner runs out. The more you print in color, the earlier you have to throw the whole cartridge away. A Canon multifunctional printer, however, is designed for optimal printing. You will only need to refill individual toners when needed, instead of replacing entire cartridges which still has working parts.

Q:

Am I paying too much for my printing?

If you are not actively tracking your output, there is a good chance your organization has been overpaying. We can help you calculate the current cost-per-page for your existing printers (even the non-Canon brands) for reference. Thereafter, we can help propose a solution to show you how you can bring the costs down.

Q:

Why is color printing so expensive?

When you print in color, you are using four layers of colors to create other shades. This means that the printer uses up more toner than printing in black and white. With a desktop printer, it is difficult to keep track of how much color print-outs cost you. A multifunctional printer is a far more elegant and effective solution as print costs per page is fixed and managed.

Canon’s uniFLOW is designed to help manage your office’s document output. If one was to go on an effective diet, he would need to know relevant data (BMI, calorie consumption, etc.) before he proceeds. In the same way, uniFLOW puts you in the know when it comes to your organization’s printing so you can improve its business health.

Active KnowledgeWith uniFLOW, you can find out:

How many users are printing in black & white, or color? What proportion of your organization’s output is in color? Who are accountable for various print costs?

The uniFLOW system will also generate a detailed Print Health Report on a regular basis to provide you with up-to-date oversight your organization’s print output. This enables you to make informed decisions on print policies and accountability. Based on the subsequent, you can make further optimizations to the way your organization prints.

Intelligent ManagementuniFLOW performs intelligent rules-based print-routing for cost efficiency and maximum print availability. For example, if a report has 2 pages of color and 48 pages of black and white, the color pages can be printed at a standard multifunctional device, while the main bulk is printed using a B&W-only printer. Another example would be automatic routing of print jobs of more than 5 pages away from the default desktop inkjet printer to a multifunctional device (MFD).

In short, uniFLOW will help you re-route jobs to the most efficient device, based on your rules. A failover mode is also included to ensure that your organization’s printing devices uptime is maintained.

with Rules & Routing module in an environment with multiple fleets of different brands.

Always route your large jobs (>5) to Canon MFD for cost-savings purposes, especially if they are color pages.
