Spend most of the time developing for the user and the audience
User – Graphic interface and maximize functionality. The best model is the one that can be passed off to another department!
Audience – turn the data into information. Anticipate the questions…answer them. Identify all potential audiences so you don’t have to cobble together reports later
Maximizes the efficiency of formulas from the central point of the hourglass out to the reports and user interface
Breaks model up into modules and threads formulas based on relationships
It doesn’t just produce the report, it shows the process

Some Facts About The Models:
All images you saw in this PowerPoint were from Excel
No macros were used
Many logic formulas are used and time was spent testing the inter-relationship of modules
Property management module employs over 100,000 formulas flowing through two independent summaries that then allow for a test of errors

Parting Thought…
I measure the success of every seminar based on whether I can take at least one thing from it to better my life in some way. My hope is that this seminar will allow you to look at a familiar tool (Excel) in a different way…not as a spreadsheet, but a powerful tool to communicate complex ideas in the simplest ways.
