By Matt Stout Posted Sep. 23, 2011 @ 12:01 am Updated Sep 23, 2011 at 11:12 PM BROCKT ON A jury found 24-year-old Laurence Bynum Harris guilty of first-degree murder Thursday, more than four years after he told police he hit his boyfriend over the head with a hammer and stabbed him 20 times in a bus terminal parking garage. Bynum Harris was sentenced to life in prison without parole in Brockton Superior Court after jurors returned from more than two days of deliberation with the verdict, according to the court clerk’s office. Bynum Harris, formerly of 35 West St., No. 2, Brockton, had been held without bail since his arrest following the killing, which took place in the Brockton Area Transit Authority parking garage on Commercial Street shortly after midnight on Aug. 12, 2007. The victim, Claudio Montrond of Brockton, who like Bynum Harris was 20 at the time of the killing, had a prior intimate relationship with Bynum Harris, authorities said. Lewis Armistead Jr., prosecuted the case, and the judge was Barbara Dortch-Okara. Bynum Harris was represented by John F. Palmer of Boston. Matt Stout may be reached at [email protected] . hammer and stabbed him 20 times in a bus terminal parking garage.

A jury found 24-year-old Laurence Bynum Harris

guilty of first-degree murder Thursday, more

than four years after he told police he hit his

boyfriend over the head with a hammer and

stabbed him 20 times in a bus terminal parking

garage.

Bynum Harris was sentenced to life in prison

without parole in Brockton Superior Court after

jurors returned from more than two days of

deliberation with the verdict, according to the

court clerk’s office.

Bynum Harris, formerly of 35 West St., No. 2,
