Newsletter - #2

Land, off-road car, boat bought, but most importantly, plenty of smiles and a feeling of being welcome

We have spent most of July in Zambia, which has resulted in significant progress on site. We are close to being ready

to start construction of the school in October.

A strong crew of volunteers – Join us at the Eventure day and feel the spirit

This project can only be realized if there is a strong support. Until now we have been absolutely amazed by the

interest, involvement and support from people in general. Up to now, there is a crew of 20 volunteers who will move

down to Zambia this autumn. The volunteers are a fantastic mix of people from all age groups and professions, which

is wonderful as this project has an infinite number of aspects to it. The group consists of a carpenter, a doctor,

teachers, an accountant, a bricklayer, a journalist to be and many others.

All volunteers will be able to meet each other at the info meeting on the Eventure day August 28th at 13.00 (those

who consider becoming a volunteer are more than welcome to join this meeting as well). Generally, we hope to see

many of you that day. The main presentation starts at 15.00 in “Huset ved Kongens Have”. Has changed name to

”Poesiens Hus”, but is still located at Gothersgade 89. At the presentation, there will be shown video and pictures

from the area and Zambia, in general. Furthermore, we will discuss what the next steps and opportunities are from

here on. Sign up at Facebook: ” Eventure Dag - Project Zambia” or write to [email protected].

We are meeting with the local Chief in his ”Palace”. He

has given us the right to the land, and his blessing for

the project in general. One of the reasons for choosing

this area is that Chief Titimbuw is young and well

educated and sees the potential in getting this project to

his chiefdom

Sunset at Lake Tanganyika. Sunsets are beautiful

wherever you are in this world. However, sitting in

completely unspoiled nature and enjoying fresh fish

cooked on the fire is absolutely amazing - You have to

try it for yourself!

The plot is on a bay to the Lake Tanganyika. Of course

one can teach in all surroundings, but we think that such

magnificent view will stimulate pupils, teachers and

volunteers even more

Lovely view at sunset with zebras and buffalos. This is

not in a National park, it is simply just nature! Taken on

Together we can achieve more

The support to the project is amazing and crucial for the realization of the project. Since our first newsletter, a lot of

new members have signed up, and we have now crossed the 300 milestone. However, we hope that many more will

join. In total, members have donated 125,000 DKK, which is impressive. Furthermore, we have received the first

company donations: Gymnordic has supported with 250,000 SEK (www.gymnordic.com), while Accenture has donated

with 15,000 DKK (www.accenture.com). Furthermore, a family has chosen support the project. This is the first family,

which has chosen to “buy” one of the family packages. In short, the family packages combine a lifetime experience for

the entire family by donating to those in needs. You can read more about these packages on

http://issuu.com/eventure/docs/familiepakker.

Finally, we have received a donation of 15,000 DKK from Aarhus Motion, which is a

donation to the construction of a football stadium at the plot (www.aarhusmotion.dk).

Furthermore, their help has made it possible to arrange a competition, where the prize is a

trip for two to Zambia, to a value of 21,000 DKK. In order to participate in the competition,

you have to send a sms to 1919 with the text ”Zambia 150”. You will thereby automatically

support the project by 150 DKK and participate in the draw about the travel. Furthermore,

Aarhus Motion will hand out a flyer on the project at the “DHL stafet” in Aarhus (describing

the project and the competition), where an African band also will create the right

atmosphere. Eventure will be there during the DHL days in order to answer questions and

spread the good message about Africa. The flyer is sponsored by CS Graphics

(www.csgraphic.dk) and is printed for free in 10,000 copies by Print House (a printing firm

from Horsens).

Finally, we want to thank you for the fantastic support, which you have all given to the project so far. It is paramount

for the success of the project. We still need a lot more support, so if you feel like helping, you can:

Sending a text message to 1919 with: ”Zambia 150” to donate 150 DKK and participate in the competition.

Help us finding more members for the association

Consider a family package for your family, if you have the desire to help and get an unforgettable lifetime

family experience in Zambia

If you have your own company and would like to strengthen the social responsibility profile, company

donations to Project Zambia could be an approach to achieving this. Or perhaps you know of another

company to which this could be an interesting offer

We are about to start applying for funding and as you know, it may be easier by using your network. If you

have any relevant contacts, please email us at [email protected]

Last but not least, we very much hope to see as many as possible on the Eventure day August 28th at

”Poesiens Hus” in ”Kongens Have”
