Principal’s Report
Welcome to Term 4
Welcome back to everyone in our community! I hope you all had a lovely holiday break and are ready for another amazing term.
This term we are looking forward to MADD Night, Stage 3 are excited for their visit to Canberra and Stage 1 are keen to visit the
Reptile Park. We also have our regular Term 4 events with Presentation Day, Party Day and the Year 6 Farewell.
MADD Night
We start our exciting event schedule this Wednesday with MADD (Music, Art, Dance, Drama) Night. The night begins at 5pm and
all of our community are welcome to attend and see the performances. It will be a relaxed evening for you to browse the artwork
and events and have a picnic dinner. Please see the separate note for details.
Kinder Building
As you may be aware, our Kindergarten building has been undergoing renovations recently. As work progressed, it became evident
that more extensive work was needed. As a result, the building will undergo a full refurbishment. The classes currently in the
building will be moved out to other rooms for the remainder of the year. Work is scheduled to commence later this term and
continue until at least July next year. As a result, we will have 4 new, beautiful classrooms for our school.
Kinder Train Orientation
Our Kinder Train orientation sessions begin this Wednesday morning and we welcome all of the new families to our school. If you
know of any student in zone who is beginning Kindergarten next year and has not yet enrolled, please send them to our school
office.
New Support Class
Our support unit will be gaining a new Multi-Cat class in 2020. Work to
renovate the current office space in the support unit into a new classroom
will begin this term and a new Assistant Principal (Support) and School
Learning Support Officer will be appointed to teach the class. We are look-
ing forward to having the third class in our support unit.
New Hall Sound System
A big thank you to our P & C for the donation of a new sound system for
our hall. Aaron from Rock Cave Music installed the new system over the
holidays and it sounds fantastic! Thank you!
Kind regards,
Deborah Hall
Principal

Have your Say—Before and After School Care
The NSW Government is committed to providing before and after school care to all students of public primary schools in
New South Wales. As part of the reform, a parent web form has been established by Service NSW that will enable parents
to tell the department about their specific care needs and to stay up to date with any new developments.
The information provided by parents will help the Department of Education to understand your needs, give them insights
into where there are gaps in service delivery and help to ensure the extra places are delivered where they are required.
Have you say today at https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/basc.

2020 School travel To assist with any enquiries you may receive regarding student travel applications, we have provided some information be-
low.
Applications for student travel in 2020 opened on Friday, 11 October 2019.
Students progressing to year 3 and year 7 no longer need to re-apply if they:
· are continuing at the same school
· are residing at the same address
· have not been sent an expiry notification from Transport for NSW.
Where a student meets the new distance eligibility, the system will automatically update their entitlement. If they do not
meet the new eligibility, they will receive an expiry notification via email.
Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition which is due to expire will receive a notification advis-
ing them to re-apply.
Term Bus Pass holders will receive a notification to re-apply.
If students need to update their information or re-apply, they should go online to https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts/
updateDetails
Applications need to be submitted before 31 December 2019 to ensure student entitlements are updated and their current
entitlement/card is not cancelled. If their application is submitted after 31 December 2019, the system will automatically can-
cel an entitlement/card and a new one will need to be issued.
Students in the Opal network applying for a SSTS or Term Bus Pass entitlement for the first time will receive their card at
their nominated postal address. Cards will be mailed out from January 2020.
Students residing in Rural and Regional (R&R) areas should receive their travel pass at the commencement of the new school
year from their nominated operator, this may be distributed via the school or sent direct to their address. Note: some R&R
operators do not issue travel passes. Students/Parents should confirm with their nominated operator if they do not receive a
pass.
Lego Group Last Thursday the children who attended Lego in the library learned to make robots.
