Tawonga Kindergarten 3YO & 4YO Open Day

Tawonga Kindergarten is hosting two Open Days from 9.00am to 3.00pm on Monday 17th September and Wednesday 19th Sep-tember. We welcome all families to come and spend some time in our Kindergarten environment.

The Kindergarten is located within the Tawonga Primary School grounds. We offer an emergent program that focuses on being responsive to children’s interest to create meaningful learning experiences. Our environment allows time for children to engage in small group open-ended activities as well as offering structured learning experiences.

Enrolment information for 2019 will be available during the Open Days.

For further information or to arrange a visit on an alternate day, please contact Jane Barter (Kindergarten Teacher) on Mob: 0407 412 292 or E: [email protected]

This Thursday is our annual Prep late night and

Yr 1-2 sleepover.

Preps 5.30 - 8.30pm

A normal school program will take place during the day. Children will go home from school at the usual time, returning to school at 5.30pm. This allows time for the children to bathe or shower and to collect their sleeping gear for the night. Parents are requested to help the children to set up their beds and then say good-bye. Thank you to those parent who offered to as-sisted. Unfortunately we can not have everyone stay over. Joanne M will join Sarah in sleeping over. Please consider what your children will be hav-ing for lunch on Friday. We are happy if you drop in on Friday morning with lunch and to col-lect bedding. Any question please speak with Sarah.

We have been trying to raise money for the farmers for the past two weeks. Our

original plan was to have a casual dress day. With only 26 kids in the school we

wouldn’t have raised much money. We decided to do a bike-a-thon and we

reached out to people to sponsor us. We are happy to report that after two weeks

we have raised $1130.37 in donations for the farmers. We’ve also received $6.80

for each lap we ride. We have estimated that we will ride around about 50 laps. So

that will be around another $340. So in total we are currently on around about

$1629.81

Ride the Mitta to Mt Beauty for as little as $5

This year Team Mount Beauty is encouraging locals to participate in the iconic Mitta to Mt Beauty mountain bike challenge by offering a big discount to all shire residents who have not entered in the last three years.

The event, sometimes known as the Pub to Pub starts at the Mitta pub at 10am on the last Sunday in October, and makes its way via minor roads, and gravel tracks to finish at the West Peak pub in Mt Beauty.

Entering for the event now will inspire you to get out on the bike and start putting in the k’s. Simply follow these steps:

STEP 1. Go to the MTBA website and sign up for an 8 week free trial membership and race licence – this will give you a race li-cence number and insurance for the event.

mtba .org.au/membership

STEP 2. Go to the Team Mount Beauty website…

tmb.org.au/events/mitta-to-mt-beauty

… read all about the event, and follow the links to enter via “EntryZone”. You will see the normal full prices displayed there, but will receive a $20 discount by applying the promo code “MM_Resident2018” just before paying by card.

This promo code and the free trial licence will reduce your entry cost from $93 to $40 for over 17s and from $45 to $5 for under 17s. If you wish to use the bus to get you over to Mitta on the morning of the event, instead of driving with friends and family, you will need to check and pay the $25 additional bus cost.

STEP 3. Get on your bike!

If you think you’re the type that can manage 50km on dirt, then be one of the 100 extra locals in this year’s event and respond to the “Mitta to Mt Beauty” Challenge” Questions may be asked of Team Mt Beauty members you may know, or ask Bob Flower (who is already signed up for the event!).
