Dear Parents & Carers

STAFF RETIREMENT After 35 years in education Mrs. Maureen Crowley has decided to retire. Maureen was appointed to Sunvale P.S.in 1981,she has spent nearly all her career educating students in the Sunshine area. OUR TRIP TO THE ZOO On Wednesday we went to the Zoo.

We saw a koala, zebra, giraffe and many

other animals. We all went on a bus and

went on safari. We had a lot of fun.

Peng/Miki –Grade 1

IMPORTANT REMINDER It is very important that when you receive an Excursion notice or any Special Events notice that it be paid by the due date. We cannot accept any late payments due to bookings & ordering. Please check your child’s bag daily as we don’t want any students missing out.

COLD WEATHER Now the cold weather is upon us,

it is important for your children to bring warm

clothing to school. Please make sure you label

all their clothing so we can return items quickly

to your child if they misplace them.

I would advise you to use a permanent marker

on the inside of their clothing, as the labels are

easily removed.

Don’t forget to check lost property as we have

a lot of clothing in there.

Paul Griffin.

This month is Family Reading Month. It is a time to celebrate reading and encourage

reading at home with your family and loved ones. The Junior School Council has been

inspired by the Scholastic Book Club to set a reading challenge across the school.

Students are challenged to read as many books as they can up until the end of May, they

can record the books they have read at school or at home. They will need to have this

signed off by their teacher or relative who they read with. There will be some awesome

prizes for those who read the most books!!! So, if you haven’t already, get a reading log

and get started!

Happy reading!!!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are beginning “Tier 2” (or the second part) of PBS at Sunshine Harvester Pri-mary School. This means that we are thinking about how to support students who may need more strategies in order to show respect, learning, and responsibility. Please speak to your child’s teacher or Martine Wakeham if you would like to

OurPBSfocus for term 2 is: When we play outside, we share the space in a co-

operative manner.

Lots of students have received High Five cards over the last two weeks. The teachers are enjoying fo-cusing on all the students who are taking it in turns when they play, following rules on the equipment, etc. Well done to all our students!

You can help by asking your child what part of the playground they play on, what they enjoy playing, and check whether they have had any problems when playing. Talk about what you would do to solve these problems in a co-operative and fair manner.

Sunshine Harvester Primary School is a POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT school.

TEACH students the behaviours that match our values of:

Respect

Responsibility

Learning.

We acknowledge their efforts

Reading is fun
