    OUR NEXT HOLIDAYWe break for half term on Friday 15th February at 3.30 p.m. and re-open on Monday 25th February at8.45a.m. There are NO training days attached to this holiday.

    PARENT-GOVERNOR ELECTIONYour child will bring home a letter about the election of a new Parent Governor. The date for

    February 2013, not January as stated.Nomination forms are available from the school office.

    HOLIDAYS IN TERM TIMEPlease be aware that holidays in term time of up to 10 days can only be authorised when a holidayform has been completed. For a holiday in term time to be approved, your childs attendance must be

    95% or higher. The Local Authority requires schools to issue Fixed Penalty Notices (fines) toparents if they take their children out of school on holidays that have not been authorised. Ifyou would like to know what percentage attendance your child currently has, please contactNatalie Smith (Attendance Assistant).

    ABSENCE DUE TO ILLNESSComing to school on time, every single day means that no important lessons are missed;therefore your child will have the greatest opportunity to learn. Regular attendance andpunctuality are essential. Not only will they help your child to be successful, but they arealso important lifelong skills.You can help by sending your child to school every single day unless they are really

    poorly. If your child is going to be away due to illness, it is important thatyou contact school to let us know as early as possible.Please support the school in its efforts to raise standards and improve attendance.Well done to Scarlet Class for having the best attendance in school last week! Scarlet classare being rewarded with a visit to TOCKs club on Thursday or Friday lunchtime.

    SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD MEETINGThe Balby Safer Neighbourhood team are holding a meeting on Thursday 28 th February at BalbyLibrary, starting at 6.30 p.m. If you want to go along and share your opinions about your area,the team will be happy to see you.     NEW MEMBERS FOR SCOUT BAND WANTEDDoncaster Danum Scout Band are looking for new members aged 9 and upwards. Meetingsare held on Tuesdays from 6.30 p.m. 8.30 p.m. during the winder at Priory Methodist Churchand in the summer at Ready Steady Store on Wheatley Hall Road. Membership of the Scoutsor the ability to play an instrument is not essential, as tuition will be given. If your child is
