planning for a smooth, safe return.
Its not too late to sign up for lessons!
All our teachers are experienced,
friendly and teach all levels of ability.
Music Centre will start again on Thurs-
day 24th September, hopefully back at
Beechwood school (to be confirmed).
Any children who are having lessons
on any instrument are very welcome.
There will also be some new smaller
groups (to stay safe) to include more
advanced and secondary aged stu-
dents in a variety of genres — Watch

Hello everyone. What an extraordinary
few months we have all had!
I sincerely hope that all of you have
stayed well through the challenges
Covid-19 has brought.
During lockdown the music service put
all of our services online.
Individual and small group lessons
proved successful for almost all stu-
dents and online music centre worked
well - it was so lovely to see familiar
faces every week and learn some new
pieces together. We also provided re-
sources for your schools to help them
with school music lessons.
Now we are busy planning for the Au-
tumn term as we prepare to go back
into schools and teach what we love.
We are working closely with schools to
develop procedures to make sure we
can come into schools safely. If that
isn’t possible in some schools we will
continue with online lessons. We are

I am currently looking

would like to become
part of a music forum.
This is a chance for chil-
dren and young people to
have their say in music
services for them and the
community!

I am 12 years old and for four years of my life I have been learning the piano. I was taught from when I was
little but when I began year three in primary school, I decided that I should take it more seriously and take
some exams!
Now its 2020, I am currently practicing towards grade 5 in piano.
I recently came across a new instrument– the French horn. During this lockdown I
have found practice much more easier as I have more time. I have grown much
better at my French horn and I hope to take an exam on it too!
As part of the Slough Music Service online, I also pursue the choir classes. Each
week we start with some vocal exercises and then move onto a song. We ended
the class with a random song that we all know and can singalong to.
For my piano and French horn, I have a lesson every Tuesday (not in half term).
I have found the online lessons simple, fun and easy. Its not as hard as everyone
says! All you need is a device. I have enjoyed the experiences.

Due to the pandemic, we have had to change the way we deliver our lessons to ensure the safety of the children and
teachers. Instead of group lessons we are offering a shorter term of individual lessons, which will be tailored specifically
to your child.
As before, these can be delivered at your school or online. We are able to offer individual lessons rather than group les-
sons, this can be at your school or through our online platform.
