September
Scouts go Solar training at KISC
From the 4th to the 14th of September, 10 new Solar Ambassadors from the Philippines, Palestine, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Chile, the Czech Republic, Poland and Luxemburg were participating at our Scouts go Solar training at KISC. For the first time, the Activity Guides of KISC were also joining some of our training units in 2017. It has been a very fruitful time and a pleasure to work with each and every one! Keep up the fabulous work!
Here are some more detailed pictures
of the Scouts go Solar training at KISC:
This picture shows one proud team
after the successful construction of the
solar suitcase- a miniature power sta-
tion with a USB port that can power a
laptop or mobile and three lamps. The
suitcase is particularly helpful after
power cuts and is one of our more
complex constructions during the
training.
The second picture shows that solar cookers
can simply be made with cardboard, wood
and tinfoil. Where the solar suitcase needs
soldering and technical knowledge, building
the Copenhagen Cooker is a good solar
activity, which can be done with and for
young Scouts.
