The Addl. District Magistrate, Rourkela cum Administrator, RMC, Smt.Monisha Banerjee hoisted national flag in the office premises. Sri A. K. Mallick, Municipal Commissioner along with Executive Engineer, Health Officer, Project Officer and all staffs of Rourkela Municipal Corporation were present. National anthem was sung by all staff members present. On the occasion of Independence Day, The Municipal Commissioner, RMC distributed the Madhubabu Pension Yojana Card to the beneficiaries. 372 nos. of beneficiaries were distributed with the Madhubabu Pension Yojana Card. 4 Indian Women Hockey Players namely Deepgres Ekka, Lilima Minz, Sunita Lakra, Namita Toppo represented Indian Hockey team participated in Rio Olympic were given a warm welcome on their arrival at Rourkela Railway station by Municipal Commissioner, RMC & Sub-Collector, Panposh and other officials and staffs were present in this occasion.

Verification of Housing for All (PMAY) Beneficiaries

Cluster Level Work Shop on PMAY, HFA, CLIP

A cluster level review and consultative meeting on implementation of Urban Development

Programs, organized by Housing & Urban Development Department at Council Hall of Rourkela

Municipal Corporaiton on dt. 12.08.2016. The Chairperson and other dignitaries were present of the

12th ULBs of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar District attended the meeting.

Sri R. Sachin Jadhav, IAS, Director of Municipal Administration reviewed the progress of different

scheme on Urban Development Programme of Aahaar, Urban Governance, FC Grants. Sri Parmeswaran

B., IAS, Joint Secretary & Mission Director, SBM reviewed the Swachh Bharat Mission programme and

present status of different component of SBM and NULM. Sri Durga Prasad Mohapatra, OAS-I(SB),

Deputy Secretary of Housing & Urban Development Dept. and other official also conducted review on

Revenue generation, target & achievements of different ULBs. Intraction session of elected

representative of different ULBs was also held. Smt Monisha Banerjee, IAS, Administrator, RMC and Sri

S.K Meena, IAS, PD-DRDA & DUDA, Sundargarh and PD, DUDA, Jharsuguda were present.

RMC got 3rd Best ULB in Orissa for the Year 2013-14, 2015-16

Field Verification of Beneficiary under “Beneficiary

LED Housing Scheme” (PMAY) at Pradhanpali,

Bandhpose & Tulasi Tola of Ward No.1. Total 274

beneficiaries identified for the scheme. In 1st phase,

40 nos. of eligible beneficiary were shortlisted and

sent to Dist. Urban Housing Society (DUHS),

Sundargarh for approval and submission to Govt. in

H&UD Dept. for sanction. Validation of documents of

2nd Phase beneficiary list is under process and list

will be sent after verification of eligibility criteria.

Rourkela Municipal Corporation received the 3rd Best

Urban Local Body in Orissa for the year 2013-2014 &

2015-16. In the state level award ceremony held on

dt. 29.08.2016 at Holtel Mayfair, Bhubaneswar.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha inaugurated Orissa

Municipal Service Cadre, Plan Plus and Action Soft

Software and awarded the prizes to the best

performing ULBs.

Public Awareness Programme on Water Borne Disease

Special Sanitation Drive for LSG Day Celebration Special Sanitation Drive was undertaken at various wards from 24.08.2016 to 30.08.2016.

Group Manpower were deployed for cleaning, bush cutting, drain desilting work as a special

initiative for cleanliness.

aware general public on Dengue, Malaria,

Chikengunia, Diarrhea public awareness

programme was taken up in every wards.

Celebration of Local Self Government Day – 2016

Rourkela Municipal Corporation celebrated Local Self Government Day on Dt. 31st August 2016.

National Flag was hoisted by Municipal Commissioner with Executive Engineer, Health Officer, Project

Officer and all staffs were present in the RMC campus. Municipal Commissioner, RMC addressed to

staffs on this occassion.

Due to accidental death of an electric staff of RMC while working on street light pole on dt.

29.08.2016, Employees Unions and staffs of RMC were decided to observe the LSG Day in simple

manner.

Plantation Programme

Blood Donation Camp

On the occasion of LSG Day,

A Plantation program was

held at Rourkela Municipal

Corporation Office and near

Staff Quarters. The

Municipal Commissioner

and Other Staff of RMC have

participated in this

programme and planted

various trees saplings.

As per scheduled programe the blood donation camp was organized on Dt.

31st August 2016. RMC Officials and staffs donated blood in this camp. Total

40 unit of blood was collected in this camp. IRCS Blood bank staff supported

and conducting the camp.

Movement of Nidhi Ratha under MDD Campaing-2016

Field Level MAS Training (2nd Phase)

The Field Level MAS Training (2nd Phase) was started by the 3 nos. of Partners NGOs of NUHM,

Rourkela i.e. VARRSA, YAVARD and ORES respectively. Each partner completed 10 batches of Training.

The main aim of the training was to build up capacity of the MAS members on MAS components, its

activities, Fund utilization, Team Building, Preparation of Health Resource Map, Demand generation in

MAS level etc.

Special Sensitization Meeting for Diarrhea Incidence

As a part of MDD Campaign-2016 under IEC/BCC Activity

Nidhi Ratha was moved to the different part of the

Roukela city from 15/08/2016 to 21/08/2016. It was

formally flagged up by Dr. Puspamitra Mishra, SDMO cum

Nodal Officer, NUHM, Rourkela. The purpose of the

movement of the Nidhi Ratha was to make the people

aware on the prevention and treatment of Malaria,

Dengue and Diarrhoea during monsoon season. The

movement of Nidhi Ratha with miking was done on MDD

along with leaflets distribution in the slums & non slums

areas of the city.

A special sensitization meeting was Conducted on diarrhea control

measures, WASH Components on 18/08/2016 by SDMO cum Nodal

Officer, NUHM, Rourkela, CPMU staffs and PHNs with the active support

of concerned HW (F)s, ASHA, AWW and MAS members at Subashpalli

Slum, Sec-6, H Block, Rourkela . The MAS members were suggested to

conduct special Cleanliness Drive and Door to Door sensitization on the

same. On the same day and Subsequent weeks Door to Door visit was

conducted by the HW (F),

ASHA, AWW, MAS members

and sensitized the people on

cleanliness, ORS preparation,

Hand washing and other

WASH components,

destruction of mosquito

breeding sites followed by

distribution of Halogen

Tablets, ORS and disinfection

of wells by MAS members.
