Newsletter No. 5 – 11th March 2019Dear Parents,
I would like to thank Mrs Bartolomei and Mrs Cunningham for working at making the design of ourNewsletter online a bit special and particularly Mrs Bartolomei for putting the Newsletter together everyweek.
Swimming has begun and it is tremendous to see nearly all the students in Year 5 and 6 going to thebeach. Learning the skills that are required to swim safely at the beach is a very important part ofswimming training that is essential for anyone living in Western Australia.
Two weeks ago, the School Council sat down and began the process of formulating a Statement ofPurpose and from this, a strong desire to investigate and look into the future of the changing needs ofeducation arose. On Wednesday night the entire school council went down to All Saints College tolisten to a presentation by David Price on Education into the future. In 2013, he wrote a book titledOpen, How we will Live, Work and Learn in the Future. It was an interesting night with lots of veryfascinating facts and predictions. For example, by 2025, 50% of all manual jobs currently being doneby people will be automated. It is a prediction, it might not come to pass, however, there is a seriouspush towards automation and the chance of the prediction coming true is high. So how do we prepareour kids to be ready for this change?
This is the task that the Council have set themselves and I cannot be prouder. Please congratulatethem for the effort and importance they are putting into the task of helping to plan the future forRawlinson Primary School.

core Australian values. Orange is thecolour chosen to represent HarmonyDay. Traditionally, orange signifies
social communication and meaningfulconversations. It also relates to the
