Wednesday 7th August—School Closure Day
Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s a sporting week at OLOL this week. Yesterday our netballers braved wet conditions to partici-
pate in the Knox Division finals, competing against local district finalists. Our team were competitive
in every round robin match, but ultimately were not successful on the day. Thanks to Brendan Wil-
liams and Chris Marshall for supporting the students on the day. Today our Girls’ Soccer team have
braved the weather to represent the school in Division finals. More news will follow.
CAR PARK AND AFTER SCHOOL PICK UP
For several weeks we have been trialling an alternative arrangement for the end of the school day.
As a staff we are very pleased with the response from the students and parents in helping to ensure
the safety of everyone in our community. We will continue with our afternoon routine for the rest of
this term.
SCHOOL BEANIES
Perhaps it is a sign of the cooler weather, but there has been a great response to the latest uniform
shop initiative- so much so that a second order has been placed. Please contact Melissa in the of-
fice if you would like to purchase a school beanie for $10.
SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY WEDNESDAY 7TH AUGUST
Originally scheduled for the Monday, the school closure day has been rescheduled for Wednesday
in week four. On this day staff will be completing work towards our 2019 School Review. The Re-
view process provides an opportunity to reflect on school performance and plan for the future direc-
tion of learning at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School across five key areas (spheres) of the
school: Religious Dimension
Learning and Teaching

Children will also enjoy some free time on the playground equipment outdoors when the weather permits. On Thursday the children will be involved in baking Anzac biscuits. Next week’s program will include, board games of their choice indoors, while outdoors there will be skipping, hula hoops and other team games, as well as a bit of colouring and drawing or watching a movie to have some relaxing time.
