Independence Day Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2016 to mark the 70th year of freedom from

the British. On this patriotic occasion, the program began with the flag hoisting by the Chief

Guest, Mrs. Madhuri Singh, Pune's Best Parent Counselor & Avant Garde Bloggers Award Winner.

Founder of Pune School Reviews, SchoolKhojo and ShopiU. She shared valuable advice with the

parents, staff and children, energizing them with patriotic fervor and encouraging them to serve

the country with honesty and integrity. The Head Mistress delivered an inspiring speech,

underlining the importance of true patriotism. Children from Empowering D spoke about the

different facets of our glorious freedom struggle. Speeches were followed by patriotic song and

dance, holding the audience spellbound.

Chief Guest Mrs. Madhuri Singh

Hoisted the Indian Flag.

Our teachers sang

"We shall overcome"

Much to the delight of our esteemed

guests Empowering D performed

a patriotic dance choreographed by

our danceteacher Miss Apurva Agarwal.

Raksha Bandhan

brother's and sister's love for each other. They

enjoyed making "rakhis" during art and craft

periods and proudly took home beautiful

specimens that must have delighted many

brothers!

Medical Checkup

Medical Checkup for Preprimary and Primary

sections were held on the 23rd and 24th of

August 2016 respectively. Children bravely

went in for an overall checkup by the doctor.

Special Assembly

Every month , one class takes up the

responsibility to conduct the assembly

followed by special assembly at the end of the

month. Each child in that class gets a chance to

come on stage , in front of the school and

participate in drill, news, thought of the day,

national anthem or to give amazing facts

about the topic chosen. On the last day of the

month, special assembly is conducted and we

get to see many wonderful performances by

the students, related to the topic chosen.

Prizes were given to all the winners, of various

competitions, for all the activities held in that

month.

Sakal Eco Friendly Idol making Workshop

A hub of creativity

SAKAL Eco Friendly Idol making Workshop

was organized in collaboration with Clara

Global School on the 4th of September 2016.

Eager students turned up to make the

"Ganesha" idol. Patience, dexterity and

creativity triumphed and the results were

amazing. Much to our surprise,

235 kids from in and around Magarpatta City

participated in this activity. We conducted the

activity in two batches, due to lot of on spot

registrations, so no child goes home

disheartened.

Ganesha Activity

GANESHA Activity was carried out on the 8th

of September and students were shown a

video on "Ganesh Chaturthi". Students also

coloured "Ganesha" and created the Ganesha

idol on paper using leaves, coloured paper,

sequins etc.

thGrandparent's day was celebrated on 9 September 2016:

The Pre Primary Section was agog with excitement as they prepared to celebrate

Grandparent's Day! More than 50 Grandparents and the entire Clara family were

dressed to the 1970's theme. The Vintage Car Photoshoot was most popular and

kids with grandparents posed in the old FORD. Beautiful photoframes made by

the kids with icecream sticks were given to the kids. Each class conducted various

activities involving both the child and grandparents. After a snack the

grandparents were escorted to the school auditorium where they played musical

chairs to the songs of the 70's. There was a lot of camaraderie between the plucky

"dadas and dadis", "nanas and nanis"! Six winners from both the teams of

grandmothers and grandfathers were given prizes by the Director Mrs. Hemangi

Kawade. A few grandparents spoke about how happy they felt on being specially

invited to CGS and some even sang songs. Mrs. Sarika Babar, Director introduced

the Clara staff and the Head Mistress gave the Vote of thanks.

These pictures tell the story………

Orange Day

Orange Day saw everyone at Clara dress up in

orange. A short video was shown to the

children on "Janmashtami". The children sat

transfixed watching and soaking in the

information and later left for class, better

informed about the birth of Lord Krishna and

the festival.
