Principal’s news
Welcomed back I felt quite humbled and overwhelmed by the hugs and cuddles I received from students when I returned to school last Wednesday. It certainly made me realise how much I am going to miss the NEIS ‘family’ when I leave this beautiful little school at the end of this term. However, over the next few weeks we will have lots of great moments together. Many thanks to Mrs Ash, Mrs Amery and all our wonderful staff for keeping things running smoothly for the first half of the term.
Library Refurbishment A special thank you to Mrs Beaumont for overseeing our library refurbishment. We are hoping to get the new blinds fitted by the end of the term to complete our new modern look. The new carpet in the hallway of the main building also looks great and will be continued through the foyer and offices sometime in the next 12 months. We now need to get cracking with the sensory garden in front of the canteen.
Dental Screenings Yesterday those students who returned permission notes received a non-evasive dental screening from an oral health therapist through the Riverina Medical and Dental Aboriginal Corporation. Parents have received feedback regarding any further treatment that may be required in the future.
Aussie of the Month Congratulations to Braxton Lilford who received the Aussie of the Month award for May at yesterday’s assembly.
World of Maths On Thursday this week we welcome Peter Wilson from ‘World of Maths’ back to our school for a ‘hands-on’ practical maths workshop with all students K-2. Please send in the $7.00 tomorrow or Thursday.
Cake Stall Many thanks to all who cooked, served and supported our second P&C cake stall for 2019. The P&C raised over $900. What a top effort!
Landcare Visit The Local Landcare volunteers, Nella, Glen and Kimberley visited our school and did a workshop on sustainability with each class. Check out the photos further in the newsletter. Have a great week everyone. Karen Babbs Principal
