MY FAMILY NEWSLETTER

My name is Meghan Ingold, and I am the oldest of three kids. I have a younger brother and a younger sister. My

parents, siblings, and I all live in New London.

Our dog, and also the newest member of the family, is named Lilly Belle. She is a full-blooded chocolate Labrador.

She is almost two years old.

MY MOM

My mom’s name is Trina Ingold. My mom and I are very close, and always have been. She always supports me. She

comes to all my basketball games, and if she cannot, it’s because she could not get out of her other plans. We go

shopping all the time. Although I hate to admit it, she has spoiled me by buying me so many things I do not need. On

these shopping days, we always go out to eat for lunch and then we might go to Starbucks or something. It’s always

funny to come home because I have to sneak whatever I got up into my room and not tell my dad about it.

My mom works at a day care, WEE Care, from 9-12 Monday through Friday. She even got me a job there this past

summer. It is hilarious to go watch her with her kids. She has the three-year-olds, and they either love her or are

terrified of her. She is not mean to them, but she does not let them get away with stuff they should not. All in all,

she is a good teacher to her students.

My dad picks on me ALL the time. Sometimes, he will just

come up and poke me or tickle me. Even worse, he will

come up and try to knock my knees out from underneath

me. So, as a result, we usually get into it and start

wrestling around. There we are being loud and getting

Sometimes she succeeds, but most times she fails.

My sister is a five-year-old that thinks she rules the world,

and she almost does. She rules the house and gets away

with things I could not even dream about as a small child.

Her name is Brooke Ingold, and although she has an

attitude, we are very close.

She is my little sister, and I try to protect her from

everything that I possibly can. Sometimes I am a little

overprotective, but someone has to be. We sometimes

fight, but it is like a rule that siblings have to fight. I have

checked.

Everyone in my family picks on me and says I am a softy. I

was not until Brooke was born, but now my family knows

Brooke knows how to push my buttons. If she wants

something from me, she usually knows how to get it. For

example, she loves my bed. She would sleep in my bed

every night if she could, so she just begs me almost every

night if she can sleep with me. Sometimes I let her, but

most of the time I try to resist unless she is crying.

MY SISTER

My brother’s name is Skyler. He is eleven years old. We

have more of a fighting relationship than me and my

sister. We fight ALOT. He does stuff to annoy me, and

then once in a while (but not very often) I do something

to annoy him. So when we fight, my sister usually gets

involved and takes my side. It’s a funny sight to see a

five-year-old little girl telling an eleven-year-old boy

what’s what.

My brother is a boy scout. He is not active in sports, but I

think he really enjoys boy scouts. He likes knowing more

than I do about animals and cooking, his two main

interests. He knows so much useless information about

animals, but I think it is neat. Just do not tell him that.

My brother’s dreams for the future are pretty cool and

unique. He wants to be a chef, and move to either

California or New York. He will open up a restaurant, and

serve Southern-style home cooked meals. He wants to

start his own line of cooking utensils, spices, and dishes.

He wants to have his own cooking show, and like Emeril,

have a catch phrase, too. When my brother cooks, the

food is usually really good. Sometimes I am scared to try

his concoctions because he is experimenting and mixing a

bunch of different things that normally do not go

together. I just tell myself that is what chefs do. I hope

one day he makes all his dreams come true, and comes

back home to cook for me.
