On May 20-22 the ICD will have a large presence at Taste Addison, a CULINARY EVENTSMetroplex event that brings nearly 100,000 visitors to Addison over a 3-day period. We will again have a booth, this year with a prominent location, introducing the attendees to our Club. We have been working for a few months on what our booth will look like, on what foods we will serve and on what information we will distribute. As a result, we have created some new and exciting offerings.

First, Chef Tomasso has been perfecting a recipe for Spiedies, a variation of Italian Spiedinis in a fashion native to my home region of Abruzzo. We have been publicized on the City of Addison's website for introducing the attendees to a new food of Italian roots, so we've already generated some “buzz”! In addition, Chef Tomasso will be one of a select group of 12 Chefs featured in the Taste Showcase. In it, he will present a 45-minute cooking lesson (making a Seafood Risotto) that will be promoted on local television stations.

When visitors come to our booth, we will give them a new informational brochure we've created for the Club. When I looked at the last one we produced, it was from our old location and was done long before we decided to relocate. Our newly-designed brochure will easily give anyone who receives it just about everything they'll want to know about the ICD and our many offerings. Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. fixed menu is

THE “STAYIN' ALIVE GLEE CLUB” TO PERFORM AT CENA MAY 27TH

Music is food for the soul – and the pleasure in listening to it is increased exponentially when it's combined with delicious food for the body! See how true that is when the lively and entertaining Stayin' Alive Glee Club performs at the Italian Club of Dallas's Entertainment Cena on Friday, May 27th.

The Stayin' Alive Glee Club is made up of retired folks who enjoy making music. They love to sing all styles of music, from rock 'n roll, to country, to some of your favorite standards. Most of the talented singers take classes at Romeo Music, which is just down the street from the Italian Club. They enjoy making their own music their own way whether it is playing the keyboard or singing for the community. They have performed at many local venues, including with the Dallas Organ Society.

The group also supports “Homes for Our Troops,” their favorite charity, which aids in the building of homes for those military men and women that have returned from Afghanistan and Iraq with severe injuries. Freedom does not come free, and they remember that! Your support of the Glee Club will also show your support for their community initiatives on behalf of America's heroes.

Join us for a wonderful Italian meal, great company, great music, and great wine – you can RSVP online at www.italianclubdallas.org or by calling 972/931-9167. See you at Cena!
