I am calling on you to share the Christmas spirit with the various lovely animals we have at our shelter. Since April we have:

Happy holidays! Dr. Diana Onyango

from our Executive Officer

George now. He was rescued from the pit latrine by our inspectors. George survived 36 hours in this hell hole and is doing great.

I represented the KSPCA at the the regional multi-stakeholder forum held in Ethiopia to discuss the challenge of donkey slaughter and skin trade. Donkeys are smuggled from Ethiopia and sold in the donkey slaughterhouses in Kenya. The donkeys go through cruelty throughout the transport and the whole process. Various animal welfare organizations led by the Donkey Sanctuary UK, in collaboration with the government, will be involved in various activities aimed at protecting the donkey populations in various affected countries. These will be aimed at ensuring the affected communities retain their source of livelihoods and the donkey populations are not diminished.

We held our third craft fair at the Bahari Beach Hotel, and it had a great response. As we are a charitable organisation that relies solely on donations to support our operations we remain grateful for all who have continued to support us. When local community partners including Bahari Beach Hotel come together with events like this, it is always a win-win situation. We have very pressing needs such as funds for meeting our day to day operational costs and for purchase of veterinary drugs and vaccines. We also require funds to immediately embark on renovation works and paint one of the catteries. Income from the Craft Fair has been a huge help, but we always need more!.
