Grand Knight’s Report
I would like to start off by congratulating the newly elected officers for 2013 -2014. Our Knight of the Year was Gregg Pellegrin and our Family of the Year was Kervin and Anne Voisin. Gregg, Kervin and Anne are very worthy of these awards and do much during the year to help the knights. Thank you for your time devoted to the Knights of Columbus Organization. The past two years were very interesting and we did very well at the state level thanks to everyone involved. In July Gregg will take over as Grand Knight and I am looking forward to working with him in the coming year.
My Brother Knights I have been elected to serve as your Grand Knight once again. Richard Mike Naquin will serve as your Deputy Grand Knight. Together Mike and I will strive to keep our council as fit and active as possible. On behalf of myself and Mike, I would like to thank everyone for their support for the coming year.

Hello ladies! My first duty as incoming president will be to thank Jean for being president the last 2 years. It’s not a hard job but one that is constant to be able to stay on top of things. Jean, you did an excellent job for the last 2 years. Thank you! I also want to say thank you to Barbara who went off the board last year after serving12 years and to Sandra who has gone off after serving for the last 11 years. They have done an excellent job. We know you will be there helping us in all that we do. Thank you Sandra and Barbara! As of this newsletter we have no theme for the coming year. We have used so many of them in the last 14 years. This week I will devote some of my time to this, hopefully I will find one. This year we are starting our 15th year as an auxiliary. Working together, we can continue to be strong, to be a visible presence in our church and community. With that said I would like to encourage our members who are active in other areas of our church parish to consider taking part in some of our activities, it doesn’t have to be all of them (unless you want too). Our auxiliary is 52 members strong. Together we can be powerful!!! Praying for you, May your Guardian Angel keep you safe and strong,
Ellen Ledet President

Insurance A founding notion: protecting the breadwinner’s income
While jobs are safer in 2013, accidents, injuries, and illnesses that can impact your ability to
work still happen. Most, in fact, do not happen on the jobsite or place of employment. Did
you know that a 2011 study revealed that more than 95 percent of the long-term disability
claims on file were not work related?
The “loss” of the breadwinner does not have to mean that person’s death; it can also mean the
loss of the breadwinner’s income. Consider that loss for a moment. How would your family
fare if a source of income suddenly stopped? Could a dual-income family manage on one
income stream? What about young families with a working father and a mother who cares for
the children? What if his income halted due to an accident or illness?
I’ve heard some people say they have coverage at work, but too many aren’t sure what this
coverage entails, how much income it would provide or for how long. Having this protection
counts for something, certainly, but it isn’t “yours”; it’s provided by the company for which
you work at their discretion. It could be eliminated tomorrow.
That’s where a personally-owned disability income insurance product, like Income Armor,
comes into play. It can offer valuable income replacement in the event of an injury or illness.
While Father McGivney likely never imagined such a product in 1882, I’m sure he would
wholeheartedly endorse the protection it can provide to a family. If you have a job, you must
know about this coverage.

Funny Bone!!Funny Bone!!Funny Bone!!Funny Bone!! Boudreaux and Thibodeaux entered a chocolate store. As they were looking at the candy, Thibodeaux stole 3 chocolate bars. When they left the store Thibodeaux said to Boudreaux, "I'm the best thief. I stole 3 chocolate bars and no one saw me put them in my pocket. You can’t beat that." Boudreaux replied: "You want to see something better? Let's go back to the shop and I'll show you real stealing. I'll steal while the shopkeeper is watching me and he won't even know." So they went to the counter and Boudreaux said to the shopkeeper: "Do you want to see a great magic trick?" The shopkeeper replied: "Yes." Boudreaux said: "Give me three chocolate bars." The shopkeeper gave him three chocolate bars and Boudreaux ate all three. The shopkeeper asked: "But, where's the magic?" Boudreaux replied: "Look in Thibodeaux's pocket . "
