Mexicayotl staff had a great time at their annual posada hosted at Canton Restaurant were they were
able to enjoy a delicious meal along with great company and great laughs.

Happy New Year! We are back to learning and actively getting ready for our 2019 goals. Quarter three runs from Janu-ary 7th to March 8th. We ask that in these nine weeks students and parents focus on daily attendance, reading growth, and learning in all subjects. We are planning an exploration for eligible students. Students with good discipline and who work hard will be allowed to participate in this fun learning activity. The Remind app has been a good communication tool for parents and teachers. We will continue using it. Thank you for your support in our classroom activities. ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! Estamos regresando al aprendizaje y activamente preparándonos para cumplir las metas de este 2019. El tercer cuarto es del 7 de enero al 8 de marzo. Son nueve semanas en las cuales, tanto estudiantes como pa-dres han de prestar atención a la asistencia diaria, al crecimiento en lectura y al aprendizaje en todas las materias. Es-tamos planeando una exploración para los estudiantes que sean elegibles. Los alumnos con buena disciplina y que trabajen con esfuerzo, serán convocados a participar en estas divertidas actividades de aprendizaje. La aplicación Re-mind ha sido hasta ahora una buena herramienta de comunicación entre padres y maestros. Continuaremos usandola. Gracias por su apoyo en las actividades del salón.
El nivel 1 les desea unas felices vacaciones y un próspero Año Nuevo. Queremos recomendar a nuestros alumnos a que aprovechen las vacaciones para descansar y recargar baterías. Así iniciarán el año con entusiasmo y energía para seguir esforzándose en cada una de las materias. Queremos felicitar a los estudiantes que lograron llegar a su nivel de lectura en ambos idiomas y a los que están próximos a llegar. Agradecemos a los padres de familia por todo el apoyo que nos han brindado.
Level 1 would like to wish a Merry Winter Break and Happy New Year to each of our students and their families. We
would like for each of our students to enjoy their vacations and remember to relax and recharge their batteries, so that
they may start the New Year with enthusiasm and energy to work hard in each of their classes. We would like to congratu-
late the students who reached their reading benchmarks in both languages, as well as those that are close to reaching the
benchmarks. Thank you to all of our parents for your support.

I hope everybody enjoyed the holidays! A new year has begun and there are new learning experiences and challeng-es to come. Thank you parents for all of your support during the first semester. We will continue working hard and teaching our scholars important concepts and values. This third quarter is all about growth in reading in both lan-guages. Please continue to make sure your child does their homework and practices reading in both languages. Let’s continue to work as a team for the academic success of your child!
¡Espero que todos hayan disfrutado las fiestas decembrinas! Un nuevo año ha comenzado y nuevos aprendizajes y retos están por venir. Gracias padres de familia, por todo su apoyo durante este primer semestre. Este segundo se-mestre continuaremos trabajando y enseñando a los estudiantes conceptos y valores importantes. El crecimiento de los alumnos en lectura en ambos idiomas es de suma importancia este tercer cuarto. Dear Parents,
We hope that this New Year brings blessings for you and your family that will endure throughout 2019. Second quarter has come to an end, and we are still emphatically asking for your support at home with reading logs. Reading logs help make sure your son/daughter masters the reading strate-gies which will help him/her achieve a higher grade in all their tests. Let’s continue working together for the benefit of your son’s/daughter’s learning. Once again, thank you for your tiendita’s donations and for your support on the sale of the tickets for our laptop drawing, which will be on January 11, 2019. Remember that during the week of February 20th to the 22th, level III will participate in the Earth Keepers exploration in Tucson, Az. A meeting regarding information for this exploration will be scheduled for the second week of January. A note will be sent with your child with the spe-cific date of the meeting. Thank you parents for all the support you gave your son/daughter during the first semester!

Por este medio queremos desearles que este año nuevo que acaba de iniciar, esté colmado de bendiciones para ustedes y sus familias y que per-dure a lo largo de todo el 2019. El segundo cuarto ha concluido y continuamos solicitando de manera enfática, el apoyo en casa con cartillas de lectura, ya que la aplicación de estrategias contenidas en dichas cartillas, apoyan de manera significativa a su hijo (a) durante sus evaluaciones. Continuaremos trabajando juntos para el beneficio académico de su hijo/a. De nuevo, muchas gracias por sus donaciones a nuestra tiendita esco-lar y por el apoyo en la venta de boletos de la rifa de una laptop, la cual se llevará a cabo el día 11 de enero del 2019. WHAT IS A TAX CREDIT?
A tax credit is a dollar for dollar reduction in the actual tax owed to the State of Arizona. It reduces your tax lia-
bility by the amount you donate, up to $400 for married couples and $200 for single or head of household. The
tax credit can also be taken as a donation on your federal tax return.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
There are plenty! You, the taxpayer, get a Tax Credit for supporting our school. The tax credit donation lets you
choose how your tax dollar will be spent. We all benefit because extra-curricular activities help children devel-
op qualities such as leadership, personal growth and cooperation. They also provide safe, supervised activities
for students. Everyone wins.
WHAT ARE EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTITIVIES?
Extra-curricular activities are defined as school sponsored activities that require enrolled students to pay a fee
in order to participate. Such activities include (but are not limited to): field trips, fine arts, music, and athletics,
just to name a few.

Un crédito fiscal es una reducción de dólar por dólar en el impuesto real adeudado al Estado de Arizona. Reduce
