On the 18th of December, we held the first parents meeting of the second term of 2011. As usual, parents had the chance to get informa-tion about their kids’ progress and discuss about the solutions for their problems about the students. One foreign and one Thai teacher were present at each classroom. They gave the student progress reports to the parents as well. The long holiday might have had a negative effect on the motivation of the students, and we will have make-up lessons on Saturdays as well, so it will be a long and demanding term for teachers and students. It is really important to start the term well. See you again in the following meetings with good news.

This event was very exciting and enjoyable for all Kindergarten students and their parents. Each child was given the opportunity to compete with his fellow students. All students were given a medal according to the place in which they were classified. It was a fun filled day.

The Best Students of January

In Siriwat Wittaya, our students get every kind of assistance from our teach-ers. Today we helped our KG3 students to understand how the school life will be in Primary. Instead of explaining them the primary system, we took our stu-dents to Primary section. So they don’t just listen but live it. They had a lesson in a primary classroom with primary teachers. They saw where they’re going to study next year, which uniform they’re going to wear. Our primary teachers had a sample lesson both in Thai and English. At the end of the lesson our students had many things to take home including a certificate for completing their first day in Primary successfully. When they finished their lessons, they went to canteen to have their snacks with the rest of the primary students. We also congratulate our students and wish all the best in Primary next year. Orientation for KG 3

Back to school season is also back to club season, as families look for en-riching and fun programs for their children. Our students are currently learning new English songs and dancing to fun filled rhythms in the Sing & Dance Club. It endeavors to develop your children’s natural talent, creates confidence and can assist them in their everyday life by singing and dancing.Next we will be having English Club during which the students will play many games using the English language. Science Club will follow with students having hands on experience doing ex-citing science experiments. In Story Telling Club students will be enthralled by English stories with the use of amazing sound effects and puppets. Cooking Club will come next with students learning new ingredients and how to make tasty recipes. We will close off with Mathematics Club where students learn that mathemat-ics can be easy and so much fun.

Sing & Dance Club

Our department is promoting the learning of English by giving free English courses for the new students. This course is given every Sunday morning. This program, one was started on first week of January and second is on February 12, 2012 by our native Eng-lish teachers and it’s a very fun learning experience. The second round starts on February 12, 2012.

Once again, our school is participating in the English competi-tion called “Petch Yod Mong Kud” in Bangkok. Siriwat had organ-ized special courses to prepare our students for this test. As usual, we believe that our students will get good results to represent our school in this important event. The competition will be on February 4, 2012. Good luck!

SPORtS DAY (Primary-Secondary)

Every year in the first half of January, Siriwat has Sports Day event with the participation of students, teachers and parents. Unlike previous years, 2012 Sports Day was held at Siriwat’s courtyard. The event started at about 8 am with the parade of colours and the opening speech of the president. After the introduction shows of the colours, Siriwat’s students took place in several fun and chal-lenging competitions. The sports matches had been finalized in the weeks before the sports day. After the sports competitions, dance groups of four colours performed their shows. As usual, the general theme of the shows was respect to H.M. the King (as well as previous kings) and Thai flag. At the end of the day the medals and cups were given to the winner groups and students. The event finished at about 3 pm. Same as previous years, we had a nice sports day with great joy. Thanks to all students, teachers and parents who participated in this organization. See you at next year’s Sports Day!

The second week of January is perhaps the most colorful time of Thailand according to children. There are several activities prepared especially for the kids to have fun. And one of the greatest Children’s Day events is held at the Air Force Museum. There were various booths especially Kindergarten and Primary kids with activities such as art, English, games and shows. The visitor kids had the chance to play English games with native teacher on Smart Board as well. For teenag-ers, there were flight simulators and science shows by our secondary students. Moreover, there was a smaller hall inside for stage shows. Parents and kids had the chance to watch various shows there performed by Siriwat students. There were songs in four different languages, Thai dance shows, rock band, games and competitions in English and Thai. We hope everybody enjoyed the day, especially the kids.

Saturday, January 21, 2012 SWBS held the examination called Pre-Prathom for P2, P3, P5 and P6 students. This stand-ard examination helps students to know their study level, so that they can improve themselves. The results will be announced on March 2012.

On January 29, 2012, P4 to P6 students had their scout camp at Rimkobfah Camping, Samut Prakarn. Students had a great day on the camp. They participated in different activities under the super-vision of the camp’s proctors. At the end of the day, all the stu-dents were tired but they really enjoyed the experience.
