Sports Report This term, we have noticed a big improvement in students’ sporting skills, both in team and individual sports. Congratulations to all students who have strived to achieve and excel in this subject area and thank you to all parents for supporting your children in their sporting endeavours.

Recently, 6 senior boys participated with determination and vigour in the Inverell Zone Cricket Trials. Well done Harry Edmonds for succeeding in making it to the North West Trials, which will be held next term. Last Friday, Zac O’Grady attended the State Trials for rugby league in Tamworth, displaying a highly commendable effort and dedication to the sport. Great work Zac!

This week, the Grills brothers went all the way to Sydney to compete at the PSSA State Swimming Championships. They both achieved PB’s and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere at Homebush Stadium.

Thank you to the teachers who have been training our school cricket, soccer, netball and rugby teams. All students in these teams have improved their knowledge of the game and their skills, while having a great time getting active.

We look forward to further developing students’ skills next term and seeing them participating in the School Athletics and Cross Country Carnivals, Gala Days and Knockout Competitions. Don’t forget to keep training throughout the holidays, as Cross Country is in week one!

4L Research Vietnam 4L have been completing research tasks on Vietnam this term. Students have researched information of Vietnam regarding currency, lifestyle, language spoken and festivals that are held in Vietnam. The have also written a 7 day holiday journal listing the sights and experiences of their holiday in Vietnam. Mrs Lennon has been amazed and delighted at the quality of research, creativity, work presentation and dedication shown by students in completing each task to such a high standard.

EnvironMentors Students in Year 2 attended an “EnvironMentors” session on Tuesday in the Library. They participated in group hands on activities with a recycling and sustainability focus. Students enjoyed an interesting and informative lesson.
