“Be strong and courageous…” (Joshua 1:6a)

This Sunday, we will hear the Lord’s admonition repeated over and over to Joshua as he prepared to lead the nation of Israel from where they were to where God wanted them to be, the Promised Land. God’s admonition - be strong, be courageous…

We have encountered much over this past week in the physical realm where these words have proven encouraging. At the Lord’s guidance - many evacuated from, and many stayed for, Hurricane Irma - both were used by the Lord and both required strength and courage. We thank the Lord for the reports where even where damage was inflicted, His hand was seen protecting His children…

As we faith God through the physical storms in life, we are also called to faith Him through the spiritual call to enter into His ‘best’ for us. His ‘best' looks different for each one of us, but one thing we know is that His ‘best’ requires both strength and courage. Sunday we will be encouraged from testimonies of God’s protection and grace through the storm and we will also hear from the heart of the Father to enter into His ‘best’ that He is calling you to possess…

PRAY FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH • Senegal - Pray that the Senegalese will be open to the gospel, especially the younger generation. • Morocco - Pray that believers will boldly share the gospel with others. • Kenya - Pray that new Christians will remain faithful end that the church will continue to disciple them. • Liberia - Pray that the children of Liberia, who account for the half the population, will place their trust in Jesus. • Azerbaijan - Pray for church planting movements in the country.

He brought peace that passes all understanding He gave joy in the midst of loss

He provided strength in extreme weakness He demonstrated the power to direct a hurricane

He answered many, many prayers He brought comfort to those who had fear

He lifted the heads of weary workers HE protected people, homes, roofs, possessions, vehicles,

relationships He turned sorrows into blessings and loss into gain

He spoke to my heart and reassured me as if He only had one daughter…Marie

WHAT DID YOU SEE GOD DO?

Thank You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit , for the MANY WAYS we have experienced Your presence, Your character, and most of all Your Love this week, even in the midst of uncertainty and fear. Thank You that as we go through the building of our faith, learning to be “strong and courageous,” we find ourselves advancing ever closer to our Promised Land. Yes, as the
