White Eagle Star Centre South West.

    Dear Brothers, Members and Friends.

As you will now be aware our Lodge Trustees have given the go-ahead, with provisos, for the es-tablishment of a Centre of Light for the south-west, allocating 60% of Charmian’s bequest.

We have acknowledged their letter and thanked them for taking the time to consider carefully all aspects of our proposal and to have come up with a practical solution which should appeal to everyone. We would also like to thank all who have shared our vision and supported us in what-ever way. Especially we thank White Eagle and the Masters of Light for their guidance, and know that plans will continue to unfold according to Divine Will.

We are positive that this proposed new Centre will dovetail quite nicely with all our established activities in the south-west. As recommended, while searching for a suitable property, we plan to run some White Eagle activities in rented accommodation. In this regard, as we are at the start of our venture, plus aware of the cost of renting rooms, we will plan these very carefully. Details will be found within this newsletter.

EARTH HEALING DAY AT HEMBURY FORT

    16th

    October 2018

We were a small group of dedicated White Eaglers for this special Earth Healing day. We met at Buck-fast Abbey car park for car share up to Hembury Fort. Our group consisted of Caroline, Theresa, Mary, Lynne, Christina and Bill – a perfect Six-Pointed Star. Sadly Margaret who was originally to be the facilitator for the day, was unable to join us due to personal circumstances, but we know that her heart was with us. Also we felt the presence of our

dear friend Charmian who passed at Christmas 2017 and who never missed an Earth Healing day.

We were blessed with a fine day as we drove up to Hembury Fort car park. As we entered the ancient woodland we were under the blessing of The Star. Caroline and Theresa were our guides as we processed in silence along a familiar route through the woods until we reached a wondrous old oak tree close to the ancient Hill-Fort. From here we began our perambulation around the Mound, linking with the great Angels of the Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, at each of the four compass points. We ascended the steps to the top of the Mound where at its central point we performed our beautiful Earth Healing Ceremony linking with our friends in Cornwall and Somerset. We left a pure white and pink quartz crystal within the area for a blessing and gift for the little people. I believe we all felt a strong connection with the Planetary Angels and Masters of the Light.

We had our picnic lunch sitting underneath the protective branches of the old oak as there was a high wind and rain was threatening. This was followed by some chanting and drumming. Our day drew to a close with a visit to the community tea rooms in the nearby village of Holne, and to its ancient church with amazing ancient yew trees in the churchyard. Thank you to everyone for sharing such a special day.

    7th October 2018

Our White Eagle day in Plymouth began with Margaret O bring-ing us under the Star; then Lynne linked us into the angelic crea-tive stream with White Eagle’s beautiful words from “Walking with the Angels”:-

“Angels of music draw close to those who call on them. When you know how to call on these angelic beings they can pour into you creative power, which enables you to express more readily the music of your soul. So also with literature and painting, or with any of the creative arts.”

Lorraine led the morning’s first session giving us a very interest-ing insight into Sacred Belly Dancing. She included an under-standing of its early origins, to promote and maintain the health and unity of women, rather than just as a form of entertainment.

She then went on to give a thorough demonstration, and then guided us through some moves which were actually much harder to put into practice than they looked!

Wearing a colourful array of costumes she had brought along, helped us to feel the part, and we all had so much fun whilst be-ing accompanied by her husband Steve, keeping rhythm on the Jambe drum. The whole room was filled with a colourful and ener-gising vibrancy. Thank you Lorraine for sharing your wonderful teaching skills with us!

    Theresa

Sound gave our White Eagle day a big zing... it both punctuated and stimulated our creative flow. A session of rhythm work on a variety of drums, a shake of rattles and a waterfall of rain stick began in some cacophony before merging into a united, harmonious beat.

Sound healer Brian led a meditation centred on a huge sym-phonic gong, rising and falling in its intensity, contrasted by the gentle ting of singing bowls and the shifting tones of a 528 Hz “wah wah bar”... while the Ocean Drum brought waves of evocative ebb and flow into the room and into our consciousness. This was an en-ergising if sometimes challenging experience!

    Lynne

Prior to lunch, at noon, Margaret O led us in sending out the light with our healing thoughts. This was followed

by a lovely Meditation with the Angels led by Mary.

Lunch was a delicious adventure in sampling the wonderful dishes of food which everyone had brought to share. Some of us sat outside on a low wall enjoying lunch in the sunshine. Myra’s little Poodle, Lucy, thor-oughly approved of this and managed to get quite a few small titbits!

Theresa led us in the Tree of Light breathing exercises after lunch which everyone joined in with and enjoyed.

Next on the agenda was our creative time making Angels out of card which will be used as decorations for our Christmas gathering. A period of busyness as card, tape and glue were put to good use.

Steve then showed us some Qi Gong and led us in some Qi Gong exercises. For many this was something new to learn about and very much appreciated. Margaret O closed this incredibly

interesting and fun day with prayer when the time came. Our last activity of the day was tea and delicious flap-jack and cake before everything was tidied up and all left for their homes. Thank you everyone for coming and joining in the activities.

UK Leaders’ Conference 22/09/18 to 26/09/18

I was taken aback when Tony, our SW co-ordinator, asked me if I’d like to attend the Conference in his place as unfortunately he was unable to go. Then, I welcomed the opportunity to meet many of the UK Leaders and learn about their experiences in their very different Regions.

Introductions and a few words about one’s area started proceedings on Sat evening in New Lands lounge. Feeling a bit overwhelmed by the array of smiling leaders (15!), I was glad to rec-ognize some from Retreats/events going back years! Lovely to meet up again with Margaret from Scotland co-representing the Glasgow Daughter Lodge leader with Janette; Derek from Ireland & Northern Ireland, Pat from Thames Valley Star Centre and with our “neighbour” Bea from Avon Star Centre. It was very special to meet Rozita (our Deputy Lodge Mother) again from the Swed-ish Lodge.

Over the next three days it was fascinating to gain an in-depth picture of other Regions Star Cen-tre/Daughter Lodges experiences, both joyful and challenging! (note coloured Map outlining the borders of our difference Regions.) I’d always felt that our long triangular South West Area pre-sented us with difficulties of meeting regularly & maintain-ing good communications but discovered that the Region of Wales has even more challenges!

Each morning commenced with an opening attunement, then an individual programme for the day, particularly fea-turing one and a half hour to two hour Question & Answer Sessions (often running over time!)

On Sunday morning the water-damaged Temple looked forlorn in heavy rain but Jenny & Rozita together gave a most beautiful Harvest Service which lifted us all up into etheric realms under the shining rays of the Star, blazing above, around and within us.

Early afternoon Anna gave an inspiring talk on peace; peace being a dynamic power, in the fully packed Temple Meeting room, followed by Jeremy encouraging us to write an individual Prayer for Peace to be collected together and carried up a mountain by a local member.

The afternoon continued with the first of the Question and

    Leader’s Conference continued

Answer sessions punctuated with lively dis-cussion; a pool of highly valuable information/experiences emerged. Much input was pro-vided by Colum & Cathy from the London Lodge with their very special experiences over the years. What vital service they give radiat-ing the Light of the Star from London, our capital city.

On the last morning Anna gave us a very comprehen-sive teach-in on the W E Lodge website with its Mem-bers support tab; Regional Centres pages, including Events; definitely worth exploring the site at regular intervals! In the afternoon Jason (Wilson) as Chair of the Trustees presented an interesting summary of the role of the Trustees.

In the brief spare time for reflection I walked the Cross-within-the Circle field and spent a little time in Ylana’s Rose garden by the Temple, delighted to find some still in bloom.

When “departure morning” arrived I felt it had been a privilege to share those few “conference” days with the Co-ordinators/Leaders who are all so dedicated to the White Eagle work and put in a tremendous amount of time and effort.

    A White Eagle

    Afternoon of Well-Being

On 11th October 2018 Caroline and Theresa facilitated a special White Eagle afternoon at the Courtenay Centre in Newton Abbot. We felt inspired to open up White Eagle’s Message of Love to those in our local community. Unfortunately we were unable to advertise it in Smoke Signals for our members because it wasn’t due out until the end of the year. However, we did contact a few local White Eagle friends, some of whom were able to join us. We had an amazing response with twenty-two happy attendees.

The room we had was in a community centre, but we set it up as a beautiful sanctuary. We cov-ered an altar table with a pure white cloth on which we placed a Candle, 2 vases of Flowers, a blue stained-glass Star, plus a ‘Let the Light Shine’ A5 leaflet in a photo frame. At the far end of the room on a table, we laid out a green cloth with an angel design, on which we put another stained-glass Star and a stained-glass Heart; both in rose pink with some more flowers. Here we had a variety of White Eagle leaflets and brochures which Clair from New Lands had kindly posted to us. The chairs were set in a circle. The whole room looked welcoming and inviting. By about 1.30pm some early attendees had arrived who joined in helping us with the preparations. There was a great deal of camaraderie and love.

Our afternoon began at 2pm and finished at 4pm with a twenty minute break for refreshments. Our activities included: An introduction to the White Eagle Lodge and White Eagle, a Sun/Star Visualisation to help with Stress and for Self-Healing, Chair Yoga, the Tree of Light and a Crea-tive Meditation which was preceded by some gentle music, plus time for questions. Although the day finished at 4.00pm many stayed on for another cup of tea and cake, which one of our lovely participants brought.

It was a very happy and special day, and confirmed our realisation of the need for the offering of White Eagle’s activities to the wider community. There was positive feedback from the Atten-dance Forms which all our participants signed. Theresa and I felt it was a joy to be able to facili-tate such an afternoon.

As a result of this, we have been approached by Newton Abbot Library to run a similar White Eagle Well-Being afternoon in January 2019 for their ‘Active Life Active Mind’ month. We are booked in for 11th January at 2.00pm. It will be advertised in their Activities Brochure and White Eagle members would be most welcome to attend. The session will finish at 3.30pm with the op-portunity to have refreshments in their in-house café afterwards.

A Happy New Year Taken from White Eagle’s ‘The Way Of The Sun’

When each New Year comes it is the custom for you to wish each other happiness, health and suc-cess; for then everyone feels in his heart that a fresh page is opening, with the past relegated to the background. You hope that in this New Year your life will develop harmoniously and happily. Hope springs eternal in the human heart, because it is of the spirit. The spirit, which is the son of God, is eternal; and because it is eternal it always speaks to the soul of hope, of happiness.

And so we say, in this New Year, look to the spirit; let the spirit guide you in all your undertakings. Be true to your innermost light, and you will create heaven and know complete happiness on earth. Do not dismiss what we say with the excuse that it is no use only one person making the effort. The way to bring a golden age on earth is for every individual to be true to the light and spirit of Christ within them. Put this into practice in your lives, and you will be amazed at the results.

Christmas Gathering and Service 02 December 2018

    Devon Spring Walk Saturday 27

    th April 10.30am – 3.30pm/4.00pm

Meet at the Steamer Quay Car Park in Totnes (paying), where toilets are available. Buses will take you to the Seven Stars by Totnes Bridge and we can connect with you there if you wish.

Our walk of approximately four miles will leave Totnes following the River Dart, via Baltic Wharf into lovely woodland, connecting to the old Sharpham carriage drive, then inland to the pretty hamlet of Ashprington and return. There is the option of diverting to Sharpham Vineyard and café. Please bring a packed lunch. Although the terrain should be good, we do suggest walking boots or strong shoes. Any problems on the day or queries beforehand please use Theresa’s mobile: 07443 646013. Please send booking form to Caroline Harris.

What a beautiful day we had at Ilsington for our Christmas Social. Margaret Oliver started the day by welcoming everyone and bringing us all under the Star. We dedicated the carol ‘It came Upon a Midnight Clear’ to our sister, Marion, who passed into the spirit life this year. The singing was led by both Loraine and Theresa on their recorders. This was followed by the singing of ‘O Christmas Tree’ and ‘Jingle Bells’. The former bringing back memories of Charmian whose passing we had dedicated this carol to at last year’s Christ-mas Gathering.

Lynne very bravely divided the group into quarters and organ-ised us all in singing ‘Angels Calling’ in a round. After a shaky start we were able to do it and very nice it sounded too! Follow-ing hot on Lynne’s heels came Lorraine who taught us all how to do an Egyptian Walk. We were soon walking around the cir-cle with knees slightly bend and hips moving in the correct way for this particular fun experience! Thanks go to Lorraine for opening our eyes to the Egyptian Walk. Just prior to our re-freshment break Myra read out a piece on Christmas which had been dictated by her guide.

Following the refreshments Margaret focused us under the Star at noon then Caroline read out The Prayer For Humanity. It was then Steve’s turn to lead us in some Qi Gong moves which revolved around breathing. Afterwards Tony mentioned a philosophical sub-ject which generated a short discussion before we all broke for lunch. Thanks go to eve-ryone for bringing such a delicious feast for us to share.

Lunch over we prepared for our Christmas service. With Lorraine and Theresa providing music, everyone lit a candle and in twos walked into the circle to place it on the central table. We then stood by our chairs waiting until all had placed their candles prior to sitting.

Everyone joined in the reading which was passed around the circle, all reading one sen-tence each. Margaret then led us in a beautiful Christ-mas meditation following which we closed our chakras before we enjoyed a festive hymn. Myra then gave a short reading from ‘The Way Of The Sun’ and told every-one what she had seen clairvoyantly with many of the White Brotherhood joining us from the spirit world.

Our final event of the day was the drawing of the raffle! Steve 2 did this in tremendous style and managed to have everyone in fits of laughter. Thank you to all who came and participated so freely during the day.

    Quiet Mind phone line –

    08442098319

Sometimes it feels good to hear White Eagle’s teaching read out loud rather than

    going to the printed page…

You can ring our Quiet Mind phone line 24 hours a day to hear two or three White Eagle sayings shared by a friendly voice

from New Lands. Enjoy, when you want to feel connected!

Calls on our new 0844 line are charged at 5p per minute (UK) and the recordings, which are changed regularly, last two to

    three minutes.

Please let Myra know if: Any groups who would like to be men- tioned here have been omitted or You are a registered White Eagle Contact
