Year 4 trip to Katara is on Thursday, 30th November.

Dear Parents, Your children have probably by now told you about the special guest who visited our school today Her Royal Highness The Countess of Wessex. Unfortunately due to strict security protocol, we were unable to let all parents know about this event. We will be sharing some more photos of the event to our DESS community very soon. Her Royal Highness is the patron of our chosen charity, Qatar Creating Vision (Orbis). Her Royal Highness thoroughly enjoyed her visit where she visited our garden where some of our Eco team spoke to her about the schools environmental initiatives. Her Royal Highness also visited some classrooms and our library before being escorted to the multi-purpose hall for our assembly. During the assembly, Her Royal Highness listened to our choir and heard some piano music played by one of our pupils. Some pupils and a member of our Board of Governors, Mona Ahmad, presented gifts to Her Royal Highness and children from year 4 and FS1 talked about our recent fundraising week. At the end of her visit, our year 6 children were able to wave her off. I was so pleased that all children were a part of this very special day. One final note, we have some exciting events in the upcoming weeks and so could I please urge parents to regularly check the calendar on the school web site for updated information. Enjoy your weekend.
