December in Review… December is always a fun month at Abner. In addition to our regular student activities, the students spent some time doing various crafts and making presents to give to their families. Our teachers

decorated their classrooms including the practical life activities to reflect the holiday season. Our teachers and students worked hard to prepare for our annual Christmas program. This included learning twists on classic songs turning “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” into “Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star.” Along with the lyrics our students learned hand motions to go with the songs. The Pre-Primary students used instruments for some of the songs and the Elementary shared a short skit with narration to tell the Christmas story. All this practice

led to the big night of performing the annual Christmas program, “Once Upon A Starry Night” for friends and family! The night of the Christmas program was a great success thanks to the efforts of our students and staff.

Thank You! We would like to extend a special thank you to all the friends and family that came out to support our students and staff in the program. We appreciate all those who took the time to come and watch the program. Thank you to all the families that came early and helped set up chairs in the gym. It was a huge help. The success of Abner’s Christmas program is thanks to your support!

Pajama Day Our last day in December was Pajama Day! Students came dressed in their pajamas to celebrate the end of the semester and to open the gifts that had been bought by families for the classrooms. Biscuits, hot chocolate, and Christmas treats kicked off the morning of festivities.

Thank you to all the parents and families that bought items for our classrooms’ wish lists. We had such an outpouring of generosity this

year. These gifts are very beneficial and are greatly appreciated. The teachers and staff would also like to express their thanks for the personal gifts they received from our Abner and Sky families. From all of the Abner Montessori and Sky After School staff and students, thank you.

Parent Teacher Conferences Parent Teacher Conferences will be held all day Monday, January 15th. Afternoon conferences will begin on Tuesday, January 16th and last through Thursday, January 25th.

Please schedule a conference for Primary and Elementary using our website. To schedule one for Pre-Primary, see Ms. Haley and Ms. Kelsey. Meetings last about 30 minutes.

Lost and Found Abner Montessori and Sky After School have a large of amount of items in our Lost and Found. We have set up a table next to the Primary and Elementary mailbox to display our lost and found. Please take a moment to see if any item belongs to your child.
