We have a big week coming up this week with lots of exciting things happening. Stop Work Meeting The Teachers Federation has organised a stop work meeting on Thursday, 8th December ending at 10:00am to vote on important working conditions decisions. As Corindi PS teachers will be attending the meeting in Woolgoolga, there will be minimal supervision for students until 10:00am when teachers return to school. However, students doing the Intensive Swimming Program will not be affected and will leave for their lesson at 9.00am as usual. Year 6 Transition Day Today Year 6 went off to Woolgoolga High School to participate in a variety of classroom activities. I’m sure they had a great day and had a good taste of high school life. Year 6 Farewell Our Year 6 Farewell is on this afternoon. Year 6 students are to arrive at the Woolgoolga RSL at 5:30pm for photos, followed by the formalities at 6:00pm. Year 5 attending are to arrive in time to be seated before 6pm. Parents stay for the formalities of the evening and then head off when dinner is served. Pick up time for Year 5 and 6 students is at 8:30pm. Presentation Night Our Presentation night is being held at the school this Thursday 8th December at 5:30 pm. As children are required to wear a clean, full school uniform that evening a mufti day is permitted on Thursday. The P and C will be holding a barbeque before the presentation starting at approximately 4.30pm and finishing by 5.15pm.

Students must be finished eating by the time they sit down for the presentation at 5.30pm. Please keep pre-schoolers with you during the presentation. All students are to sit in their class lines. Pool Day Notes and envelopes for our end of year Rewards Day that is being held at Woolgoolga Pool on Wednesday 14th December are included in this week’s newsletter. Only students who have shown exemplary behaviour are invited to attend. Students who have received three timeouts or a suspension this term are ineligible to attend. They will be supervised at school by a staff member. Intensive Swimming Intensive swimming concludes on Friday this week and students have been enjoying the opportunity to improve their skills and water safety awareness.

School Reports School reports and blue work sample folders will be sent home on Friday this week. End of Term Term 4 ends on Friday 16th December. This is the students’ last day of school for 2016. Have a great week.

Year 3 News…

A homework sheet and spelling homework sheet were handed out yesterday. Homework and the Home Reading Journal are due in this Friday. The last homework for the year!! In maths we have been revising measurement; using a ruler to measure in mm’s and cm’s. In Grammar, we completed an assessment for our portfolios. Last week we wrote some poems about different insects and spiders. Koala Sponsorship Update - We have received a fantastic certificate from the Koala Hospital at Port Macquarie. On the certificate is the picture of our sponsored koala, Oxley Kaylee, as well as the name of our class and school. Our certificate is hanging up proudly in the foyer of the front office. Presentation Assembly - a reminder that this ceremony is on this Thursday. I hope to see lots of parents there.
