Fenton for Race Six title at
Fontana

Larry Bradshaw won his first Southern California Pro
Gas Assoc., race since April 2016, as he defeated
first time finalist Mark Fenton for the B&B Electric,
Riverside Transmission, & Cordeiro Motorsports
event title at Auto Club Dragway.
Qualifying was led by ’16 series champion Vince
Campa, followed by Randy Fabbro, Greg Martin, and
Dave Meziere. Quarterfinal racing began with Fen-
ton using a .014 light to defeat Ray Cordeiro, Arizo-
na racer Mike Wiblishouser advanced as Fabbro red-
lighted, Bradshaw ran a 9.908 to beat Martin, and
Campa got a bye run.
Bradshaw and racing partner Melvin LeForbes had
the ’57 Corvette dialed in the semi, hitting the ‘tree
with a .001 light and running 9.921 to stop Campa,
and Fenton advanced to his first Pro Gas final as
Wiblishouser shut-off early. Fenton had a .011
better light than Bradshaw in the final, but Larry
took the win with a 9.916, 151.07 to Mark’s second
best of 9.944, 141.59.
Larry Bradshaw drove his ‘57 Corvette to the winner’s circle
in race #5, stopping Mark Fenton in the final.
2016 Pro Gas Champion Vince Campa qualified #1 and went
to the semifinal before losing to Larry Bradshaw.
Mark Fenton went to his first Pro Gas final when he defeated
Mike Wiblishouser in the semifinal round.

Mike Boner wins K&N, Lucas
Oil Pro Gas Drags By Bob Johnson Fontana, Calif., July 9, 2017
Mike Boner drove his ’88 Ford Thunderbird to a final
round win over Randy Fabbro in the K&N Filters/
Lucas Oil Products Pro Gas drags at Auto Club Drag-
way. The win for Boner was his first of the season
and moves him into the Pro Gas top ten with only
two events remaining on the 2017 schedule.
Evan Kowalski led qualifying with his ’05 Corvette,
with Randy Fabbro, Greg Martin, and Dave Meziere
rounding off the top four qualifiers. Boner defeated
Vince Campa to open the quarterfinals, Mark Fenton
won a double-breakout race with Kowalski by .002
seconds, Napa’s Bob Hefley used a .010 light and
9.913 to stop John Ross who broke-out by .007. Fab-
bro got a bye.
Boner went to the final when Mark Fenton’s ’27 Ford
red-lighted by .006, and Fabbro’s
Pinto advanced with a .006 better
reaction time and a 9.903 elapsed
time. In the final round, Boner got
a .011 better light, and took the
win with a 9.954, 162.86 to Fab-
bro’s too quick 9.868.

great season in Pro Gas both bow-
ing out in round one of both July
races, the final two races of the
season could see a change at the
top by the time the K&N Filters/
Lucas Oil Pro Gas Finals conclude
on August 13, 2017.
Mike Boner won his first Pro Gas race of the season when he defeated Randy
Fabbro in the final round of the K&N Filters /Lucas Oil –sponsored Race #6.
Mark Fenton was looking for his second final round of the
weekend but lost to Mike Boner in the semifinal.
Randy Fabbro ran a 9.903 in his semifinal match with Napa’s
Bob Heffley. Heffley lost with a 9.915.

Bob Hefley made the trip from Napa to run his 4th Pro
Gas race of the year. He was a semifinalist on Sunday.
Mike Boner won his first race of ‘17, and is currently 9th
in the Pro Gas points standings.
Steve Williams won the D7 Super Gas title at Sonoma.
Williams & K&N are long-time supporters of SoCal Pro Gas.
Coming off a runner-up finish in Race #6, Randy Fabbro will
enter the final weekend of the season in 8th place.

the 2017 NHRA Sonoma Nationals—Evan won
his first NHRA National event when he defeated
Chris Cannon of Division 6 in the final round.
Evan and his family have been supporters of the
Southern California Pro Gas Association, and he
is currently in sixth place in the annual points
standings and in sixth place in the Pro Gas
Shootout points.
